The Real Reason Carole Radziwill Thinks RHONY Is 'Toxic'

Real Housewives of New York seemed to be known for the tried and true friendships at the center of the hit Bravo reality series. Despite Ramona Singer's "stingers," her onscreen pals couldn't stay mad at her. Luann de Lesseps' costars rallied beside her at a time of need, and supported her career "Countess" cabaret change. Bethenny Frankel first found a BFF in Jill Zarin during the first season, before later bonding with Carole Radziwill. Yet Carole doesn't quite see it that way.

In an April 2021 interview on podcast Not Skinny But Not Fat, Carole claimed her time on RHONY was rife with "toxic" relationships. Carole previously made it clear that she's not a fan of producer Andy Cohen, but now Carole is taking aim at former pals Bethenny and Tinsley Mortimer. Carole Radziwill called her friendships "transactional" with Bethenny Frankel and Tinsley Mortimer

Carole Radziwill has no problem voicing her thoughts on Real Housewives of New York. Following Dorinda Medley's rumored firing, Carole tweeted that Dorinda was the only "real" Housewife on the series. "Trust me that's a main reason cast is let go. Telling the truth & exposing fake cast members & their storylines & how its all manipulated by production," Carole captioned. Yet that same realness doesn't apply to certain past costars.

Carole previously counted Bethenny Frankel among her closest pals. "I thought [we had] a genuine friendship," Carole admitted on podcast No Skinny But Not Fat"In retrospect, a lot of her relationships are transactional." Carole shared a similar take on Tinsley Mortimer, whom Carole introduced to Tinsley's later fiancé Scott Kluth. "There are people on the show that just aren't really honest about what's going on with their life," Carole explained. "It's part of getting caught up in the machine of creating a storyline." Following Bethenny and Carole's falling out in 2018, Carole reportedly was told her role on the series was "no longer working out."

Carole alleged she was left reeling after the news from "the Bravo machine" behind the series. "I was very upset [with] production. It's a toxic environment," Carole concluded, revealing she suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder after leaving the franchise. At least Carole made lasting friendships with Heather Thomson and ex Adam Kenworthy from the show!
