What Nicole Lewis From My 600-Lb Life Is Up To Now
Many of the people who appear on TLC's popular reality show My 600-lb Life are looking for help to turn their lives around. These "super-morbidly obese" folks weigh over 600 pounds (as the title implies) and hope to work with bariatric surgeon Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, affectionately called Dr. Now. They often do whatever they can to move to Bellaire, Texas, and join his program to see if they qualify for a gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy. As all bariatric doctors will do, Dr. Now puts potential patients through their paces, to see if they can lose some weight on their own and prove that they are willing to change their lifestyles to better their lives. Many of these people are unable to get help elsewhere, so Dr. Now can be a lifesaver.
One such patient is Nicole Lewis, a 23-year-old Ohio mother of two who weighed over 700 pounds when she appeared on the show in Season 5. Perhaps most known for having to bathe outside in her backyard because she couldn't fit through her bathroom door, Nicole faced a painful and neglectful childhood (her parents both struggled with drug addiction), and she already weighed 400 pounds when she was only 16 years old.
Not all who appear on the show are successful, but fortunately, Nicole's story is a happier one. Let's look at her journey and where she is now.
Nicole Lewis is back in Ohio and working on her life
Despite facing some trouble in her My 600-lb Life: Where Are They Now episode in the form of eviction and a forced move back to Ohio, Nicole Lewis seems to be thriving. Yes, she had some difficulty when she first returned home, a common situation for people who lose a lot of weight, but she got back on her journey. With her gastric sleeve surgery and a lot of hard work, Nicole lost some 326 pounds. She was grateful to do things many of us take for granted, like going to the movies. "...With no wheelchair to be comfy in," she wrote on a since-deleted Facebook post in 2018 (via Starcasm), "I sat right in a theater seat with the arms lifted on it!!!!"
Nicole is now one of at least 10 cast members to file suit against Megalomedia, the production company behind the show. Nicole is suing for fraud after they promised to pay for surgeries in exchange for her appearing on the show (per Starcasm).
Nicole was also excited to join the workforce again, posting on Facebook (per IB Times) about a job interview in 2018. "Wish me luck... it's been about 4 years!" Whether that was the interview for her current job or not, the Insane Clown Posse fan is now clearly following her juggalette passion and working as a promoter for Majik Ninja Entertainment, according to her Facebook profile. Her slim face looks dramatically different than it did before, not to mention much happier.
