Linda Torres died from COVID-19 complications
According to USA Today, Linda Torres died on April 1, 2021, from COVID-19 complications at Staten Island University Hospital in New York. "She had double pneumonia COVID," Detore told the outlet. "She fought the fight, I gotta tell you that."
Detore explained to USA Today that she and Linda's daughter were hopeful that she'd make it because she was a "strong woman" and they didn't "think it was going to end this way." However, Detore saw meaning in Linda's death because she died on April Fool's Day. "...Linda always had that good sense of humor," Detore added.
Linda had previously been diagnosed with breast cancer and was in the process of undergoing chemotherapy, per TMZ, which made her high-risk for COVID-19 complications. Linda was under her daughters' care when she was diagnosed with the coronavirus and battled the virus for nine weeks before her death, USA Today reported.
