Blake Shelton Shares Update On His Wedding Plans With Gwen Stefani
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani's wedding has been the topic of discussion ever since they got engaged. The pair first met each other in April 2014 when Stefani joined The Voice as a coach, per Billboard. However, it wouldn't be until November 2015 when their relationship became official.
After five years of being happy anywhere together, Shelton finally got down on one knee and asked the former No Doubt frontwoman to marry him. On Oct. 27, 2020, Shelton took to Instagram and announced that he had proposed to the singer, writing, "Hey @gwenstefani thanks for saving my 2020 ... And the rest of my life .. I love you. I heard a YES!" The snapshot saw the couple sharing a kiss while Stefani flashed her engagement ring directly at the camera.
According to Hello! magazine, the duo will reportedly tie the knot on Shelton's Oklahoma ranch in 2021. With that being said, Shelton has spilled more details about their wedding, which might be happening sooner than fans think.
Blake Shelton has his sights set on a summer 2021 wedding
During an appearance on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna on March 31, 2021, Blake Shelton explained that he hopes to tie the knot with Gwen Stefani in the summer of 2021. "I'm afraid if she and I wait until next November, then I'm right back into The Voice cycle again, and I really want to be able to have plenty of time before and after, so hopefully this summer," he said. "I think we're right here at the point with COVID, it looks like it may be OK, but don't know, so that's tentatively the plan."
Miley Cyrus and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine have both offered to perform on their big day. Shelton joked that their wedding is starting to "sound like a Coachella lineup," adding, "I'd love to be able to take everybody up on their offer and have this amazing concert wedding, but you know how it is. We're just waiting every day just like everybody else to see what our summers gonna look like and then go from there."
After getting married, Shelton revealed that he hopes he and Stefani will take a break from the spotlight. "We've both pretty much taken it to the limit as far as our careers go and touring and now the television thing. It's been fortunate to accomplish a lot of things, hopefully at some point we'll get a chance to live some life. And I think we're both ready for that, honestly."
