Inside Ariana Grande's New Role On The Voice

Ariana Grande is busier than ever! In addition to celebrating the success of her sixth album, Positions, the singer just accepted a new role as a coach on the NBC hit show, The Voice. She is replacing Nick Jonas, who replaced Gwen Stefani in 2020 — and he might just be a little bit jealous.

The show is a great fit for Grande, and we have no doubt she will share her musical wisdom with contestants. She joins many accomplished singers, including Stefani, Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, and Shakira, who have also served as coaches on the show, according to People.

NBC executives are thrilled to have the "Thank U, Next" singer in one of the iconic spinning chairs, according to TV Line. "Ariana is a visionary with over a decade of experience in the music industry," Jenny Groom, Executive Vice President of Unscripted Content for NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, said. "Her unmatched vocal skills, creativity, and unique expertise on all facets of the industry will make her an invaluable coach to the next generation of artists."

Ariana Grande took to Twitter to share her news with fans, writing, "Surprise !!! i am beyond thrilled, honored, excited to be joining @kellyclarkson @johnlegend @blakeshelton next season ~ season 21 of @nbcthevoice! @nickjonas we will miss you." Fellow coach John Legend also shared the good vibes on Twitter with, "So excited to welcome Ariana to our Voice family!!"

Grande "can't wait to go head-to-head with the incredible coaches, get to know these new artists and help to take their craft to the next level," according her statement (via ET Online).

Arianators flooded the interwebs with messages of support, writing, "ARIANA OMG CONGRATS." Some fans even predicted higher than average ratings this season, saying, "THE VIEWERS ARE GOING TO SKYROCKET!!! ARIANAS IMPACT." It appears the news converted some fans who will watch The Voice for the first time. One fan wrote, "WELL LOOKS LIKE IM WATCHING THE VOICE NOW."

It's clear that fans were not ready for this announcement, and are clearing their calendars for Monday nights at 8 p.m.
