The Real Reason Amira And Andrew From 90 Day Fiance Split
If you are a fan of TLC, then you are most definitely a fan of 90 Day Fiancé. And if you are a fan of 90 Day Fiancé (and why wouldn't you be? It's amazing), and all its problematic stars, then you know just how messy long-distance, cross-continental relationships can get.
90 Day Fiancé, a show that chronicles the struggles of couples from different countries as they try to decide whether or not to get married within the 90 days allotted for those granted a K-1 visa, is nothing if not a testament to the trials and tribulations of true love. Like any binge-worthy season of 90 Day Fiancé, Season 8 has seen as much heartbreak as it has happiness.
Enter Amira Lollysa and Andrew Kenton. Amira is from France, and Andrew is from the United States. They met online and dated long-distance before finally meeting in person in Las Vegas. Andrew proposed on the spot, and Amira said yes, per InTouch Weekly. Unfortunately (but unsurprisingly for 90 Day Fiancé), Amira and Andrew split a little less than a year after getting engaged. Here's what we know.
Amira and Andrew wanted different things
Amira Lollysa and Andrew Kenton had tension in their relationship long before they split. In one of Season 8's most dramatic moments, Amira was detained in Mexico — where she was supposed to meet Andrew before heading to the States — because of issues with her passport, while Andrew chilled by the pool. Amira returned to France, and the relationship never fully recovered.
Things were also complicated by travel restrictions imposed by many countries in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, making it difficult for Amira to travel to the United States to be with Andrew. They finally called it quits when Amira refused to board a U.S.-bound plane that would have reunited her with her fiancé. Four days before her visa was set to expire, Amira decided she'd had enough. She did not board her plane in Serbia, where she was staying, and sent a curt text to Andrew telling him not to pick her up in the U.S.
The final straw for Amira was Andrew's decision to "pick a fight" hours before they were supposed to see each other for the first time in months. "I thought he was The One," she told the cameras, adding that the fight revolved around her desire to have children and Andrew's wish not to, per InTouch Weekly. "I think that I f**ked up," Andrew said upon receiving the news from Amira. Sure, seems like it.
