The Real Reason Alex Rodriguez Flew To See Jennifer Lopez On Set
Despite rumors swirling that Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez had ended their two-year engagement, the couple told TMZ that they are still together — but have some work to do in their relationship. "All the reports are inaccurate. We are working through some things." A source close to the couple told People, "They never officially broke up and talked about it but are still together. They hit a rough patch. But were not broken up." There was speculation that Southern Charm star Madison LeCroy contributed to the breakup somehow, but the insider claims those rumors "had no bearing on the rough patch at all."
J-Lo is currently filming Shotgun Wedding in the Dominican Republic, and recently, A-Rod made a romantic gesture when he flew to see his fiancee on set — for the second weekend in a row. What was the reason behind the trip? Get all of the details (and more!) below.
Alex Rodriguez had a romantic reason for visiting Jennifer Lopez
Over the weekend of March 20, 2021, Alex Rodriguez visited Jennifer Lopez in the Dominican Republic, after having spent the previous weekend there.
A source close to the couple told People, "He flew back to the Dominican Republic this weekend so he can spend a few more days with Jennifer." A-Rod shared golf photos on his Instagram account from his most recent visit. And the couple appears to be in good spirits. "They are really trying to figure things out," another insider added of his prior trip. "It was a happy reunion." J-Lo revealed to Allure in March 2021 that she and A-Rod had been to couples' therapy. "We got to work on ourselves," she explained. "I think it was really helpful for us in our relationship."
"She's working in the Dominican Republic and he's in Miami so it's tough seeing each other especially with quarantining and COVID," a source told People, "but they want to try to stay together." There are four more weeks of filming left. It looks like the couple will have to do long distance for at least another month.
The weekend prior, on his Instagram story, A-Rod tagged Lopez in the post, per TMZ, writing: "Onward. Upward." For her part, J-Lo shared a TikTok video which appeared to troll the tabloids. She highlighted several headlines about her relationship to the tune of Saweetie's "Pretty B*tch Freestyle." She captioned the post "Sunday brunch playlist," per People.
