How Soulja Boy Really Feels About Drake
Drake is all about his family ties, even in the music industry. The Toronto rapper has made great friendships along the way in his career, especially with fellow rapper-actor Bow Wow. In March 2021, Drake paid homage to the "My Pain" crooner on Instagram following his historic Billboard win. "I had to link with Wizzle Everybody wants to have drinks and everybody wants to celebrate and turn up and, you know, I just had to see Wizzle," Drake said in a now-deleted video, according to Uproxx. "I had to see Wizzle in person. If it wasn't for you, there wouldn't be no me. That's why I'mma rock with y'all forever."
Bow Wow may be touched by the sweet tribute, but there's one celeb who is outraged by Drake's sentiments: Soulja Boy. The "Pretty Boy Swag" rapper had a few words for Drake. Keep scrolling to find out what he had to say.
Soulja Boy still wants credit for Drake's career
Kodak Black isn't the only rapper asking for his peers to give him credit. For years, Soulja Boy has demanded the music industry to reference him as a pioneer — especially Drake. The Atlanta rapper slammed Drake in March 2021 for crediting Bow Wow for his career. "That n**** drake is hilarious. Dude stole my whole bar then thanked bow wow," Big Drako tweeted.
This isn't the first time Soulja Boy has called out the Scary Hours 2 rapper. In 2019, Soulja made headlines (and memes) for his infamous "Drake???" moment on an episode of The Breakfast Club. During the interview, Soulja also made the claim that Drizzy copied his bars from "What's Hannenin'" on his hit song featuring Lil Wayne, "Miss Me." He exclaimed, "[Drake] copied my whole f***ing flow! He copied my whole f***ing flow! Word for word, bar for bar. Don't act like I didn't make Drake, n****. Don't do that."
Soulja Boy is also seeking credit for creating the concept of social media vitality. In February 2021, Soulja Boy took to Twitter to make a bold claim about his career, writing, "I created going viral." Some might say he's right.
