How Paris Hilton Really Feels About Her Mom Joining RHOBH
Kathy Hilton will be the third Richards (her maiden name) to star in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills franchise — and if she's anything like sisters Kyle Richards and Kim Richards, then it's sure to be a memorable season. Kyle has been on the hit Bravo show since its inception in 2010, per IMDb, and she also happens to be the only cast member to appear in every single season of the show. As for Kim, she appeared in Seasons 1 through 5 before moving to a guest role for Seasons 6 and 7, per Us Weekly (kind of like Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson, can we get a woo-hoo?). Kim also made cameos in Seasons 9 and 10 but didn't grace the screen in Season 8.
Housewives fans were certainly shocked in October 2020 following an announcement that Kathy Hilton would be joining the girl squad for Season 11, especially since she had publicly said that she wouldn't be interested in the show. Like her sister Kim, Kathy will have a friend role, and she may or may not sit down in front of the confessional to feed into the drama even more. "Kathy is so excited to join the ladies of BH, " an insider dished to E!. "She won't have a full-time role, but will be around a lot when it's involving Kyle and her family."
As fans know, Kathy is married to hotel heir Rick Hilton, and the two share four children — Paris, Nicky, Conrad, and Barron Hilton. Keep scrolling to find out what Paris thinks of her mom's latest endeavor.
Paris Hilton has mixed feelings on Kathy Hilton's new role
While many fans are excited to see Kathy Hilton on the series, there are quite a few skeptics, and her daughter Paris Hilton is one of them. In a teaser for her new iHeart radio podcast, This is Paris, the reality star shared her thoughts on her mother's upcoming role. "I don't know what to think," she admitted. "My mom is so hilarious and so beautiful and so much fun. But I haven't watched that show actually in a while. I used to watch it in the beginning. But then it's so much drama."
In addition, Paris shared that she also stopped watching the show after everything that went down between aunts Kim Richards and Kyle Richards. "It's hard because both of my aunts are on the show, and they would have these fights and arguments, and when you're watching your family do that, it's kind of just weird to watch," she shared. Interestingly enough, Paris has also been on a few reality shows in her day, including The Simple Life, which put her on the map. According to IMDb, the series aired from 2003 to 2007. The popular show followed Paris and pal Nicole Richie doing various internships as hilarity ensued.
While there may be mixed feelings on Kathy's appearance on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, one thing is for sure — the family was made for reality television.
