Donald Trump Is Finally Encouraging His Supporters To Do This
Former President Donald Trump still has a lot of influence among his supporters and remains a popular figure in the country's political scene. He narrowly lost the 2020 election to President Joe Biden, proving he still has a strong constituency of those who believe in him. In a previous interview with CNN's Jake Tapper on The Lead, Brett Giroir shed some light on Trump's power.
As part of Trump's coronavirus testing team, Giroir pointed out (via CNN), "The people who follow our former President are very committed to President Trump, and I think his leadership still matters a great deal, and I think we have to do a better job reaching the minority underserved communities that have been so disproportionately affected."
On March 16, 2021, the 74-year-old decided to weigh in on an important issue that many Americans are struggling with during an interview with Maria Bartiromo from Fox News. The former president held back nothing as he tried to sway his Republican base. What issue is Trump enthusiastically reporting on? Let's dive into the discussion he had with Bartiromo.
Donald Trump 'would recommend' the vaccine to 'people that don't want to get it'
The former President of the United States encouraged Americans to get vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. Politico reported that Donald Trump recommended the coronavirus vaccine and said, "I would recommend it to a lot of people that don't want to get it and a lot of those people voted for me, frankly. But again, we have our freedoms and we have to live by that and I agree with that also. But it is a great vaccine. It is a safe vaccine and it is something that works." Trump then went on to talk about Meghan Markle and the queen.
Trump contracted COVID-19 in early October 2020 and made a speedy recovery. He and Melania Trump then received the coronavirus vaccine in early January before he left the White House. At the time, he didn't disclose the fact that he had received the shot. According to CNN, Republicans have been hesitant to receive the vaccination. Only 50% of Republicans have indicated that they have received or want to receive the vaccine.
While everyone is entitled to their opinion, the ex-president has assured the public that the shot is safe. Here's to hoping Trump continues to endorse what is best for all Americans.
