90 Day Fiance: The Real Reason Mike And Natalie Called Off Their Wedding
Has a 90 Day Fiancé couple ever called it quits before the 90 days were done? Yes — but never like this.
In an unprecedented turn of events, Season 8 especially poised a new challenge for engaged international lovers as they raced to use their K-1 visas amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Mismatched duo Andrew Kenton and Amira Lollya have especially felt the pressure of a ticking clock as Amira tried to successfully enter the U.S. after quarantining abroad.
Yet for returning couple Mike Youngquist and Natalie Mordovtseva, there isn't anything stopping them from tying the knot. Natalie spent 90 days in Sequim, Washington with Mike, and despite their tumultuous relationship, everything was squared away with her K-1 visa. All they had to do was say "I do" and they could have had their happily ever after. Shockingly, that doesn't seem to be the case.
In a March 14, 2020 episode, Natalie is seen hysterically crying and telling a wedding officiant on the phone that their ceremony is off. So what went wrong? Keep scrolling to find out!
Mike changed his mind about Natalie
Fans won't be cheers-ing to Mike and Natalie's nuptials just yet. On the morning of their wedding, Natalie revealed shocking news. "My fiancé changed his mind," Natalie cries in the clip. "He said today that he was thinking and he could not marry me and I have to leave the country because I have three days left [on the visa]."
As In Touch Weekly reported, Mike goes to the bank to get money for Natalie's plane ticket back to the Ukraine, while Natalie is fearful that she won't be allowed back in her home country due to pandemic travel restrictions. Yet was this really a surprise to fans?
Natalie and Mike spent most of the season arguing. On top of Natalie's doubts about Mike, Mike told Natalie that her "beauty is ugly" on the inside, and even went so far as to say he's not in love with her anymore. "I don't want to make all these [wedding] plans if [love] is not there anymore," Mike revealed in a couples therapy session, per Entertainment Tonight. His cold feet were ignored by Natalie, who continued to insult Mike's "low-class" lifestyle, including his house on the farm and his carnivorous appetite.
But this spat seems to just be another dramatic notch on the chain of their unhealthy love affair. According to Screen Rant, Mike and Natalie did get married in Spring 2020, and rumors are swirling that they might be expecting a baby. Maybe Mike and Natalie were still meant to be after all.
