The Shocking Reason Fans Are Calling For A RHOBH Boycott
Could The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills be no more? After a decade of drama, ranging from the infamous Puppy Gate controversy with former star Lisa Vanderpump to Season 10's scandal involving Denise Richards' alleged affair with Brandi Glanville, RHOBH seemed to have won over fans with its peek into the private lives of the glamorous women of Beverly Hills. But maybe that fandom has come to an end.
Season 11 already includes a cast shakeup, with queen bee Kyle Richards' best friend Teddi Mellencamp booted from the series — reportedly for being "too boring" — and the arrival of the first Asian-American Housewife, Crystal Kung Minkoff. Kyle's older sister Kathy Hilton (aka mother of Paris Hilton) also joins the franchise, and Kyle's pal Kris Jenner may appear occasionally, she told Ellen DeGeneres, per Us Weekly. Old feuds will no doubt be reignited, while Erika Girardi's cryptic social media posts prove new alliances have been built.
Yet, fans are dreading the RHOBH season premiere. Some are even calling for a boycott! Keep scrolling to find out why audiences are fed up with the franchise, and which Housewife is at the center of the drama.
Fans want Erika Girardi to be fired
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Girardi has been a fan favorite for her no-nonsense attitude, but her latest scandal seems to have already soured audiences. Erika announced her divorce from attorney husband Tom Girardi in November 2020, citing infidelity. However, it was revealed that Tom was broke and being sued for allegedly embezzling millions of dollars from settlement victims. In March 2021, Tom lost his law license and was appointed a conservator amidst the claim of Tom being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
So, is Erika really innocent in all this? Well, she is also being sued, and her divorce filing from Tom was deemed a "sham" to avoid having to pay his legal fees, per Today. And, most importantly, it seems Erika has lost the trust of her fans. "We should NOT support RHOBH this season," a Reddit thread argued. "I find it disgusting how [RHOBH stars] keep supporting Erika on social media."
"Bravo should be ashamed they are continuing to associate with [Erika]," another fan commented. "Unless we find out her salary is being paid directly to victims I feel like I'm supporting a criminal."
According to The Things, this isn't the first time fans have called for a boycott of the show. In Season 10, viewers wanted to oust Lisa Rinna for coming for Denise Richards. Could this be the end of the RHOBH "ice queen"? Looks like we'll have to wait to find out.
