Brad Pitt Saw His Kids For Christmas
Brad Pitt was able to reunite with his kids for Christmas.
A source told Us Weekly the actor met up with the six children (Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8) he shares with estranged wife, actress Angelina Jolie, over the holidays. "Brad did see the kids at some point for a holiday gift exchange," an insider told the tab. A second source said the children's therapist was present for the visit, which was allegedly orchestrated by Jolie, noting, "[Pitt] gave them presents and it was cordial."
The move comes after Pitt, 53, lashed out at Jolie, 41, in court documents on Dec. 22, 2016, People reports. In the papers, Pitt's legal team alleges that Jolie "appears to be determined to ignore even agreed upon standards relating to the children's best interest" and that the Oscar winner "exposed the children by making public the names of their therapists and other mental health professionals" in her seemingly pointless filings. Pitt's team even claims the actress has "no self-regulating mechanism" to protect the family's privacy. Pitt cited Jolie's re-release and filing of documents containing private information as evidence, noting, "Although she had already made them public, she did it again."
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Pitt's legal team requested an emergency hearing to seal divorce and custody battle documents after Jolie made their temporary custody agreement public on Dec. 2, 2016. A judge denied Pitt's request. Jolie's legal team claimed the decision was made because Pitt's lawyers never consulted with Jolie's team before asking for the hearing. Another hearing is scheduled for Jan. 17, 2017. A source close to Jolie told Page Six the couple previously agreed to seal the documents, and that Pitt's papers were unnecessary, but a source close to Pitt countered, "If they'd agreed to that, there would be no need for a hearing Jan. 17."
Meanwhile, Radar Online suggests Jolie is looking to get as far away from the drama as possible, literally. "Angie can't take all the talk about her divorce in Hollywood," a source said. "As soon as this divorce is settled she wants to get as far away as possible, and her place in Battembang, Cambodia, is about as remote as you can get." The insider added, "It's the one place that has absolutely nothing to do with Brad. She bought it two years before they fell in love, so she feels like spending a few months there will help her get clarity on life for the first time in a while."
