Kelly Ripa's Youngest Son Reveals His College Decision
Kelly Ripa is one of the most beloved talk show hosts in recent memory. While her career started on All My Children, she rose to superstardom when she replaced Kathie Lee Gifford on Live With Regis and Kathie Lee, which turned into Live With Regis and Kelly. Per IMDb, Ripa served as a co-host a few times in the '90s before taking her permanent seat in 2001. Of course, the show has gone through plenty of changes since then, from her time on-air with Michael Strahan, to the current iteration of the show, where Ryan Seacrest currently has the post next to Ripa. Viewers have come to know Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos, and their three kids — Michael, Lola, and Joaquin Consuelos, as Ripa regularly gives glimpses into her life.
Ripa's daughter, Lola, is known for her playful banter with her mother on social media, while Michael is following in the footsteps of his parents and dabbling in acting. Joaquin, the youngest of the three, is an avid wrestler. In February 2021, Ripa opened up about her son's college search and his dyslexia diagnosis. She called it a "blessing" to some families, like hers. "People panic in real-time because they don't understand it," she said at the time (via E!). "It's a much often misunderstood learning difference. But kids with dyslexia learn how to read the room. They pick up on social cues and signals."
And now, Joaquin is currently ready for college. Keep scrolling to find out where he's attending.
Kelly Ripa's son, Joaquin Consuelos, will be wearing blue and maize
Joaquin Consuelos has his sights set high. Kelly Ripa's son is headed to Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he will be wrestling for the Wolverines at the University of Michigan. The wrestling team's Instagram page was the first to break the news, announcing that Consuelos would be attending the prestigious university. "SIGNED: Welcome to the family," they wrote, tagging Joaquin's Instagram account. The post included a picture of Joaquin in his wrestling garb and a collage of facts about him. Joaquin re-shared the announcement on his own Instagram page. His dad, Mark Consuelos, was one of the first to add a comment, keeping things simple with two flexing muscle emoji.
Ripa also shared the news on her Instagram page, but her post was a little different. The mother of three included a shot of Joaquin and Mark standing together in Michigan sweatshirts. "Sunday vibes," she wrote next to a blue heart and a yellow heart to represent the school's colors. Unsurprisingly, the post has amassed over 145,000 likes and hundreds of comments. A few of Ripa's famous friends were quick to comment on the post, including ABC World News Tonight's David Muir, who wrote: "go blue." Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga also joined in on the fun. "Wow!! So exciting! My sons dream! Good luck!" she added.
We can't wait to see Joaquin in his next chapter!
