The 2021 Grammys are looking a bit different this year with a highly reduced attendance amid the coronavirus pandemic. However, like the Golden Globes, American Music Awards, and many other award shows, production teams have mapped out a way to allow for some in-person celebration while keeping the setting safe.
After being postponed from its original January 2021 air date, the 2021 Grammys have officially arrived along with some of the lucky guests who get to attend the show in person. Best New Artist winner Megan Thee Stallion arrived ready to make a statement in a bright orange, floor-length gown, siblings Phoebe Bridgers and Jackson Bridgers also turned some heads with their skeleton outfits, and Maren Morris looked like a goddess in a silky light purple gown embellished with jewels (per Entertainment Weekly). DaBaby also walked the carpet in a flashy suit, but it was his Grammy dates who caught the attention of many.
The "ROCKSTAR" rapper brought his mother to his special night at the Grammys, where he was nominated for four awards. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, his mother said, "The sky is the limit, as he's always been told, and he's reaching that. And I'm looking forward to him to reach it and surpass." While his supportive mom definitely stole some hearts, it is DaBaby's other Grammy date — his daughter — who is melting some more, and she's not even physically there. DaBaby made sure his daughter walked the carpet
DaBaby couldn't bring his baby to the Grammys due to COVID-19 restrictions, so he brought the red carpet to her. In a video posted to his Instagram, the Ohio native can be seen posing with his daughter on an at-home red carpet, complete with a shimmering black backdrop and blue, black, and gold balloons. "Due to COVID-19 Restrictions no kids are allowed in the Grammys, so we created our OWN red carpet just so my princess could walk the carpet & show her dress off," DaBaby wrote. He continued, "A hand-made dress that @alanitaylorco flew in from New York THIS MORNING to make." His daughter stunned in a floor-length yellow dress.
The internet was blown away by this sweet display of affection and couldn't help but gush over the spectacle. "She's beautiful, precious, & adorable! yea all that," one impressed Twitter user replied. Another commented, "One thing about DaBaby you can't deny is that man really loves his daughter. Creating your own red carpet for your own to show out and dress up is legit adorable." An additional user called DaBaby's gesture "adorable."
Per POPSUGAR, DaBaby has two biological daughters and a "stepson" who is half-siblings with his first daughter, who appeared on the at-home carpet. The "Levitating" rapper generally keeps his kids out of the spotlight and has never confirmed their names.
