The Gift Meghan Markle Already Bought For Her Future Daughter
Of the many revelations to come from Oprah Winfrey's jaw-dropping two-hour CBS tell-all interview with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, one secret that the royal couple let out the bag was the details behind their second pregnancy.
The royal couple chose none other than Valentine's Day to share with the world their good news: they were expecting! Just months prior, Meghan Markle penned an op-ed opening up about her previous miscarriage as the royals were trying to expand their family. The duke and duchess welcomed their first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor in May of 2019, just one year after the royal couple's lavish wedding in 2018.
In the CBS interview, the former Suits star chose to wait until Prince Harry joined her to reveal the sex of their unborn child. And, to the delight of many fans, it's a girl! The royal couple gleamed as they shared how they were happy to complete their soon-to-be family of four, sharing that the baby girl is due in the summer of 2021.
Despite the fact that the new addition to the royal family is not expected to gain a royal title, the baby girl is expected to be handed down this expensive gift from her mother.
Meghan Markle bought an engraved watch to pass down to her daughter
Before she was a royal, Meghan Markle was making a name for herself as an actress on the TV series Suits. During the height of the show's nine-season run, Meghan revealed in an interview that she had purchased an expensive gift she planned to one day give to her daughter.
"I've always coveted the Cartier French Tank watch," the future duchess told Hello! in 2015. "When I found out Suits had been picked up for our third season – which, at the time, felt like such a milestone – I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version. I had it engraved on the back, 'To M.M. From M.M.' and I plan to give it to my daughter one day. That's what makes pieces special, the connection you have to them."
According to the Daily Mail, the watch prices out to almost $7000. Here's to hoping the duchess still has the engraved jewelry to pass down!
