Who Is Piers Morgan's Wife, Celia Walden?
SHOTS FIRED! And no, we are not talking about the ones that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle subtly launched at Buckingham Palace during their exclusive interview with Oprah Winfrey. Enter: Piers Morgan's wife, Celia Walden, another individual who has managed to insert herself squarely in the midst of the royal interview drama.
While her husband made his own waves after walking off the set of Good Morning Britain following a heated debate in which he was taken to task for his own controversial remarks about both Meghan and Harry, Walden was unleashing her very own firestorm. As reported by Mirror, Walden, who also happens to be a journalist for The Telegraph, opted to voice her own thoughts about the bombshell sit-down in a piece aptly titled, "Meghan deserves an Oscar for that performance."
"The following artist, nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role, delivered her performance with complexity, nuance and depth," Walden wrote in the British daily newspaper. She also referred to Meghan's interview as a "feature-length drama" and even suggested that she be praised for her "Oscar-winning performance." YIKES. But who is the woman behind the controversial remarks? Keep reading after the jump to find out!
Celia Walden is a journalist
Celia Walden may be widely known as Mrs. Piers Morgan (well, the second one, if we are getting all technical) but make no mistake — that's not her only claim to fame. As it turns out, Walden is pretty successful in her own right. Per Hello!, Walden has managed to carve out an impressive writing career for herself, currently serving as a journalist for The Telegraph. But that's not all. She has also penned not one, but two books: Babysitting George and Harm's Way. According to The Sun, Walden has also written for Glamour, GQ and the Spectator.
Walden and Morgan tied the knot in 2010 and, in 2011, Walden gave birth to a daughter, Elise. Morgan also shares three older sons with his first wife, Marion Shalloe. Famously, Walden has went on the record stating that she believes she wears the pants in her high profile marriage. "I think women are always quietly in charge, I just think it's best to let the men think that they are," she divulged during an appearance on Good Morning Britain in May 2018.
But there's still no word yet as to who Walden believes wears the proverbial pants in Harry and Meghan's famous union.
