This Is Where Kim Kardashian Will Live With Her Kids Amid Her Divorce

After months of speculation, Kim Kardashian reportedly filed for divorce from Kanye West in February 2021, citing "irreconcilable differences." The divorce proceedings have been relatively drama-free, as the couple has a prenuptial agreement, keeping the financial aspect of their split at bay, according to TMZ. The couple is seeking joint custody of their four kids, North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 1, and also terminating spousal support to each of them, per Us Weekly. The prenup details which properties will be owned separately and how the jointly owned properties will be divided, per TMZ.

The KKW beauty founder will allegedly remain in the couple's $60 million Hidden Hills mansion with their four children. "This is their home and Kim doesn't want to move right now at least," a source told People. The Grammy Award-winning rapper has been traveling between his ranch in Wyoming and the couple's home in L.A. "Kanye lives elsewhere but is happy that Kim is staying at the family house," the People insider elaborated. "They both agree that the less stress the kids experience, the better. Kanye loves his kids. He wants them to be happy. He doesn't want to fight with Kim about anything."

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West bought the former Hidden Hills home of Lisa Marie Presley for $20 million in 2014, per TMZ. The mansion underwent three years and $40 million worth of renovations. The couple worked with Belgian architect Axel Vervoordt on the custom renovations. "Kanye and Kim wanted something totally new," Vervoordt described to Architectural Digest. "We didn't talk about decoration, but a kind of philosophy about how we live now and how we will live in the future. We changed the house by purifying it, and we kept pushing to make it purer and purer." 

Kardashian spoke with the magazine about the head-turning all-white, minimalist aesthetic of the house. "He uses these linen fabrics that we can easily clean. All of Axel's pieces are rounded; there's no sharp edges, our tables are rounded," Kardashian noted. "We decided we wanted a house that didn't need baby-proofing."

Despite the unique aesthetic, West swears the home was designed with his children in mind. "The kids ride their scooters down the hallways and jump around on top of the low Axel tables, which they use as a kind of stage," he said, per People. "This house may be a case study, but our vision for it was built around our family."

Since the house was designed for their kids, it's clear why the couple thinks it's best they stay there.
