Inside Lauren London's Return To Acting
Besides her signature dimpled smile, Lauren London is best known for her diverse acting career. In the early years of her career, London appeared in the music videos of artists such as Pharrell, Tyrese, and Ludacris. By 2006, London made her television debut on Everybody Hates Chris, per IMDb. In the same year, the actress landed her breakthrough role as the female lead role in the Southern-inspired cult classic ATL, starring alongside T.I. as his love interest New New. London's award-nominated role landed her several acting gigs on shows and films, including This Christmas, I Love You, Beth Cooper, and HBO's Entourage. London took a short hiatus from acting after giving birth to her second child Kross Asghedom in 2016, per Showbiz Cheat Sheet.
It's been a while since we've seen the ATL star taking on acting at full capacity. Following the tragic death of her longtime boyfriend Nipsey Hussle in March 2019, the Games People Play star took some time away from the spotlight to mourn her lover. In 2020, London graced our screens for the first time since the rapper's death in Chris Stokes' Always and Forever. We can all agree that we miss seeing the Los Angeles native onscreen, but it looks like London is returning back to acting. Read on!
Lauren London will star alongside Michael B. Jordan
Good news for Lauren London fans — she's back and ready to work! The beloved, surviving partner of Nipsey Hussle is slated to star in her first big-screen role alongside Michael B. Jordan in April 2021 film Without Remorse, per Revolt. Based on Tom Clancy's 1993 novel of the same name, the film tells the story of a Navy SEAL (Jordan) who seeks revenge for the murder of his pregnant wife (London) at the hands of Russian soldiers.
The trailer for the film was released in early March 2021, and fans are raving over London's return to the big screens. However, social media users couldn't help but point out the similarities between the film's plot and the pregnancy rumors circling around London's name the month prior. The Baggage Claim star shut down the rumors on Twitter. "Woke up to some straight bulls**t," she tweeted at the time. "Rumors ! Lies ! On a woman trying her best to heal?! Please stop. I'm NOT pregnant." Although the role is presumably small due to the plot, fans are looking forward to seeing London doing what she does best. We can't wait to watch!
