How Kim Kardashian Is Reportedly Feeling Amid Her Divorce From Kanye West
After months of rumors about the state of their relationship, Kim Kardashian reportedly called it quits with Kanye West in February 2021 after almost seven years of marriage. TMZ reported that Kardashian's lawyer Laura Wasser filed the divorce documents, with the outlet claiming that it was "as amicable as a divorce can be." Kardashian reportedly asked for joint legal and physical custody of their children, 7-year-old North, 5-year-old Saint, 3-year-old Chicago, and 1-year-old Psalm.
A source alleged that West agreed with the arrangement and said the estranged couple are dedicated to being great co-parents, also noting that they're likely to honor the prenup they signed before they exchanged vows in Florence, Italy, back in 2014. Kim has mainly stayed under the radar since the filing — and neither have spoken publicly about their split as of March 4, 2021 — so how is the reality star really doing amid the breakup? Keep reading to find out.
Kim Kardashian is reportedly 'doing well' since filing for divorce
Kim Kardashian doesn't seem to be crying into a tub of ice cream following the split. According to a March 2021 report, the mom of four has been "doing well" and things have been pretty smooth sailing so far when it comes to divorcing Kanye West. "Kim is doing well, she's taking things day by day. Everything has been going as smoothly as possible with her and Kanye so far," a source alleged to Us Weekly. E! News reported shortly after the divorce news broke that Kim "is doing okay" according to an insider, who also alleged that her greatest worry was for "her privacy and kids. She's a mama bear and protective of her kids."
Kardashian has been spotted out having fun in the wake of her filing. On Feb. 22, 2021, she shared a video to her Instagram Story while in Palm Springs, with Cosmopolitan UK reporting may have given a coy nod to her breakup. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star was in the car listening to Olivia Rodrigo's breakup song, "Drivers License," which could have referred to Kardashian's relationship status. Kardashian was said to be making her way to Jonathan "Foodgod" Cheban's birthday party at her mom Kris Jenner's house. On Feb. 23, 2021, Kardashian was back in Beverly Hills. Per Us Weekly, she was spotted at dinner with sister Kourtney Kardashian and former assistant Stephanie Shepherd. Kardashian was reportedly not wearing her wedding ring.
Why Kim Kardashian is doing fine amid her divorce from Kanye West
Though neither Kim Kardashian nor Kanye West have publicly commented on their divorce as of March 4, 2021, it's thought Kardashian has been doing "okay" because her marriage had been on the rocks for a while. A source told Us Weekly in January 2021 that a divorce was coming for the celebrity couple and claimed that the reality star already had a plan. At the time, the insider alleged that Kardashian "will continue to focus on her business empire" and "has been in individual counseling and is at peace with where her life is headed."
E! News shared a similar story following the divorce filing. A source claimed in February 2021 that the split was a long time coming and that Kim got "tired of waiting." They said that she "tried to give it a chance" — which allegedly included the couple trying marriage counseling — and "gave it plenty of time" but she decided it was "just time to move on" after initially wanting to file for divorce in 2020. "There were no affairs. No one did anything bad. They grew apart," the insider added.
