The Real Reason Mariah Huq Left Married To Medicine

Doctor's wife-turned-television personality Mariah Huq first burst onto the Bravo scene in 2013 when she starred in the first season of the hit reality series Married to Medicine. While the premise of the show was to explore the lives of medical professionals, or those simply married to said professionals, while living and working in Atlanta, the reality series also managed to dish out a healthy dose of drama. And, as an executive producer of the show, Mariah always found herself smack dab in the middle of the chaos.

The show not only captured Mariah's struggles with her former gal pal Quad Webb-Lunceford and many of the other ladies, but it also highlighted a devastating miscarriage that Mariah and her husband, Aydin Huq, tragically endured shortly after announcing they were expecting twins. As reported by InTouch Weekly, Mariah's husband Aydin shared the somber news via his Facebook account, and Mariah later re-shared via Instagram. "Thank you for all your well wishes on our pregnancy. It is with heavy hearts that we must announce that we have miscarried," Aydin penned in the post before requesting prayers and well wishes for his wife.

Unfortunately, after several seasons starring on Married to Medicine with a brief hiatus in between, it appears that the sun may be setting for good on Mariah's time with the reality show. Keep reading after the jump to learn the real reason for Mariah's departure.

Mariah Huq said she has not been asked back to Married to Medicine

As it turns out, Mariah Huq's exit from the show might not be due to her own volition. Mariah sparked curiosity when she questioned why she had not received a contract from the show's network via a post on her Instagram account. In the post, Mariah dropped a few savory breadcrumbs, writing "Morting-ting-ting Where is my contract? Last time I checked I was #MarriedTo Med Now I have to worry about Covid & Contracts.." YIKES.

Speculation further ensued when various blogs also started reporting that Mariah was not asked back to film. During an exclusive interview with All About The Tea, Mariah revealed that, as of July 2020, she had not yet been asked back for Season 8. She also claimed that she was a victim of both racism and unfair treatment by the show's production company.

Meanwhile, other cast mates from the show also sounded off about Mariah's presumed dismissal. As reported by Cheat heet, cast members Dr. Heavenly Kimes and Dr. Contessa Metcalfe took to Kimes' YouTube channel to discuss how Mariah was not even aware that anyone else had been given a contract in the first place. "The messy thing is who told her they got theirs and she didn't get hers? That's messy," Metcalfe questioned before Kimes alluded to Married to Medicine's LaToya Bush-Harris being the culprit.

Season 8 of Married to Medicine is set to premiere on March 7, 2021, per BravoTV
