Kaley Cuoco Dazzles In A Princess Ball Gown At 2021 Golden Globes
2021 has been a big year for Kaley Cuoco, and we're only in month three. She received her first Golden Globe Awards nomination ever for her role on the HBO Max series The Flight Attendant, per CBS News. She even became a double nominee, earning a nod as one of the show's executive producers for the Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy category. It was a big night for the former star of The Big Bang Theory, which called for a major outfit to go along with the festivities.
Prior to the Golden Globes, Cuoco's stylist Brad Goreski discussed the challenges and benefits of picking looks for a virtual awards show, explaining, "This time we have the ability to maybe do something maybe a little bit more extravagant that we wouldn't necessarily do on a normal carpet because [the stars] will be in their homes," according to People. Since Cuoco wouldn't have to "sit in a car, walk a carpet, walk through the venue, sit at the venue, wait for their award, do the press afterwards," the possibilities of what she could wear opened up. Goreski was looking forward to being "a little bit more imaginative this year."
Goreski, Cuoco, and everyone in her team put together a dazzling look, which was perfect for such a pivotal night in her career.
Kaley Cuoco's Golden Globes dress made her cry
Unfortunately, Kaley Cuoco lost at the Golden Globe Awards, but at least she dressed like a winner. Yes, the viewers got to see some of Cuoco's look, but the whole virtual attendance thing doesn't necessarily provide for a major outfit moment. Cuoco showcased her whole look with a photo on Instagram, tagging her dress's design Oscar de la Renta, her stylist Brad Goreski, Harry Winston for the jewelry, and Stuart Weitzman for the shoes, which couldn't actually be seen in the photo since she was wearing a full-length, strapless ball gown.
However, the shoes did appear (on the floor) in Cuoco's post-show Instagram, "celebrating" her loss by eating pizza, cake, and macaroni and cheese, while she sat on the ground. Was this what Goreski was referring to when he talked about doing something "a little bit more extravagant" for a virtual award show?
The Oscar de la Renta Instagram account described Cuoco as "a dream" and the "belle of the ball." In his own Instagram post, Goreski said Cuoco was "our very own Cinderella." He also told E! Live from the Red Carpet correspondent Zanna Roberts Rassi that the actor "cried when she put" on her gown, per People. Rassi added, "She's never worn Oscar [de la Renta] before — she's eating pizza in it right now." Poetically enough, Cuoco concluded the night eating pizza in that gown, which is the best end to the evening... well, minus that not winning part.
