Inside Catelynn And Tyler Baltierra's Exciting Announcement
Teen Mom OG stars Catelynn and Tyler Baltierra shared some exciting news on Instagram on Feb. 22, 2021 — they have a baby on the way! The reality stars made the announcement by posting a photo of their daughters Novalee and Vaeda holding a sign that reads "27 weeks until I become a big sister." Their little girls can also be seen wearing matching "Big Sister 2021" t-shirts. Catelynn captioned her post, "This rainbow was worth the storm. Baby Baltierra coming soon." Tyler posted the same photo with the caption, "Can't wait for another beautiful blessing."
Fans first met the high school sweethearts on the MTV show 16 and Pregnant, where they welcomed their eldest daughter Carly in 2009 before placing her up for adoption. The couple then joined Teen Mom, which chronicled that process, as well as their relationship through the years, including their marriage in 2015 and their brief split in 2018. Following their reconciliation, Catelynn told Us Weekly, "we're really opposite, but we have a lot of similarities...I feel like some people are just meant to be with one another and I really just feel like that's him and I; we just really bond and click and connect."
Between difficult childhoods for the both of them and Catelynn dealing with mental illness, the young couple has been through a lot together. That also includes miscarriages, making this new addition to the family a "rainbow baby," which is a term coined for a baby born after the loss of a baby.
Caitlynn and Tyler Baltierra suffered a miscarriage prior to this pregnancy
MTV stars Catelynn and Tyler Baltierra announced they are expecting a baby after the two Teen Mom OGs previously suffered a miscarriage. In December 2020, Catelynn broke the news of her pregnancy loss to her fans on Twitter, writing, "I WAS Pregnant and excited to share it with all of you and I am heartbroken to reveal that I lost the baby. I am sharing this to let you know you are not alone. We are all in this together and everyone experiences pain, loss, and the recovery from it."
Sadly this wasn't the first time the young mother experienced such a loss. The two opened up about a previous miscarriage in 2018 on Teen Mom OG, which led Catelynn into checking into treatment for mental health issues. She acknowledged her recent miscarriage when announcing this latest pregnancy by captioning her post, "this rainbow was worth the storm," with the rainbow emoji.
But don't expect the Baltierras to celebrate their good news with the rest of the Teen Mom cast. Catelynn told Us Weekly that only one of them reached out to her after her loss. She said, "I feel like I reach out to them a lot when they're going through things. I try to be there, but I also have to have that mindset that everybody is not going to do what I would do." We know fans, however, are more than happy to continue following Catelynn and Tyler's journey as parents.
