Kat Von D: How Much Is The Tattoo Artist Worth?
Kat Von D put a vintage gothic face to the art of tattoo parlors. The raven-haired beauty first found the spotlight on TLC's reality show Miami Ink. She later opened her own shop, High Voltage Tattoo in West Hollywood, warranting the spinoff L.A. Ink in 2007. After four seasons, the series wrapped in 2011, per Us Weekly, but Von D didn't stop there.
Von D's eponymous makeup brand was founded in 2008 but took off in 2015. According to Allure, Von D's Studded Kiss Lipstick in shade "Lolita" was the top-selling lipstick at Sephora that year. Cosmetics have always been a part of Von D's life — so much so that she is never without her signature cat eye and red lips. "It's not an insecurity thing," Von D explained to The Los Angeles Times. "The perk of being a girl is being able to wear makeup and dress up. It's another artistic outlet."
Thus, fans were shocked when Von D announced in January 2020 that she had sold Kat Von D Beauty to Kendo, according to Refinery 29. The brand was renamed to KVD Vegan Beauty. So, how much is Von D worth now? Keep scrolling to find out!
Kat Von D has made millions as a beauty entrepreneur
Between her reality TV shows and cosmetics line, Kat Von D has amassed quite a fortune in both her professional and personal life. After a failed marriage to controversial Ink Master alum Oliver Peck, Von D wed Prayers frontman Rafael Reyes in 2018 and welcomed a son that same year.
Von D seems to have found happiness, and the birth of her son prompted her to reevaluate her business ventures. "This past year has been one of great change for me," she stated in a January 2020 Instagram post, explaining her decision to sell her cosmetics company. "As many of you know, I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy, launched my vegan shoe line, and am now busy prepping to release my long-awaited album... It has become clear to me that I just can't do everything at the maximum capacity."
She announced her vegan shoe brand in 2019; according to InStyle, some of the shoes are made in Italy out of apples. The line also benefits no-kill animal shelters.
As for her music career, Von D seems to be following in husband Reyes' footsteps, teasing an upcoming album and an international tour in her Instagram post. Von D certainly has the funds to explore a new career as a singer: the star is reportedly worth $20 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
