And once again, the king of late night comedians has once again shifted. During the past few years, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert covered politics, while The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon provided much-needed laughter. James Corden's viral Carpool Karaoke on The Late Late Show has captivated audiences with its humorous sing-alongs, while hosts like Jimmy Kimmel have given fans a mix of political commentary and fun interviews.
The ratings game will no doubt go on forever, but at least fans can voice who they love to watch the most. In fact, Nicki Swift conducted a survey asking which late night host they'd most want to hang out with. Who won the crown? Fans would love to hang with Jimmy Fallon, according to 30% of voters
Funnyman Jimmy Fallon won the vote with 29.51 percent of 627 responses, meaning people really want to hang out with the Saturday Night Live alum. Fallon counts Justin Timberlake and Tina Fey as real-life pals, and it's no wonder the Tonight Show host has such a large following: He's delightfully funny, always has great banter with his celebrity guests, and provides much light-hearted humor during a difficult time.
Runner-up Jimmy Kimmel pulled 19.78 percent of responses. Turns out Kimmel's love of late night talk show hosts, namely David Letterman, paid off. Even though Kimmel told The Hollywood Reporter in 2015 that he never expected to be a host himself, he went on to win over hearts with Jimmy Kimmel Live!. The show premiered in 2003, and has had a slew of guests of A-list guests. Kimmel also made headlines for his honest discussion about healthcare in America following his infant son's heart surgery.
Former Comedy Central host Stephen Colbert follows with 14.35 percent, and Conan O'Brien received 9.09 percent, with Seth Meyers not too far behind in 8.45 percent. Samantha Bee rounded out the survey, garnering 7.81 percent of votes. Regardless of the outcome, all these hosts are worth staying up for!
