Only 5% Of People Think They'd Be Compatible With This Bachelor
Have you ever noticed how many Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants tell the lead how happy they were to learn they would be starring in their given season? With the exception of current Bachelor Matt James, the franchise's leads tend to be contestants from former seasons of the dating show. So if, say, you saw Hannah Brown on Colton's Bachelor season, you might have been thrilled to learn that she would become the next Bachelorette.
Conversely, though, there is always the chance that people's favorite contestants will not end up leading the next season. Whether they find love outside the franchise or just end up being passed over to star in the show, some fan favorites never earn their own Bachelor or Bachelorette season. And not everyone who does snag a lead role wins over viewers' hearts.
With that in mind, Nicki Swift decided to see which Bachelor season readers would love to have been a part of thus far. Of the 627 survey respondents, 16.59% thought they would be compatible with current Bachelor Matt James, while 13.4% wanted to find love with Colton Underwood. Ben Higgins and Peter Weber (aka Pilot Pete) were also popular choices. But there was one Bachelor star almost no one thought they would get along with.
Nick Viall wasn't the most popular Bachelor choice
That's right! When asked via Nicki Swift's poll, just 5.42% of respondents to thought they would be compatible with Nick Viall. Nick first appeared on Andi Dorfman's Bachelorette season before going on to compete on Kaitlyn Bristowe's Bachelorette season, and eventually star as the Bachelor during a season of his own. Nick got engaged to Vanessa Grimaldi on The Bachelor, but the pair called it quits before tying the knot.
And, while Nicki Swift's readers aren't interested in dating Nick, he's seeing someone new who is not a member of Bachelor Nation. Nick shared in February 2021 on his podcast that he's dating Natalie Joy, a "surgical tech" worker, Us Weekly reported.
"I'm in a relationship," Nick said on the podcast, according to Us Weekly. "It's fun. It's great. I'm super happy." Maybe the key to Nick's happiness was dating outside the Bachelor franchise (and outside reality TV entirely)? He's not the most popular person in our poll, but he's doing just fine.
