Meghan McCain Has Something To Say About Andrew Cuomo
As one of the lone Republican voices on The View, Meghan McCain has become as known for her opinions as her clashes with fellow co-hosts and politicians on and off the show.
McCain is unapologetic about her beliefs and thinks her opinions are important to create conversation and keep people informed about the news. In Ramin Setoodeh's 2019 tell-all book, Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of "The View," McCain claimed (via USA Today) that part of her success has to do with the fact that she makes an effort to be knowledgeable on social issues. "I think everyone is more interested in politics," she said. "Young women are different now than when I was younger. Everyone's involved, civically engaged and informed. I think that's also why the show is doing so well."
Although McCain makes her opinion known on the show, she also does not hold back on Twitter, either, where she has gotten into numerous arguments and feuds with politicians and celebrities. Her feuds are seemingly never-ending, and she found a sparring partner in the form of Andrew Cuomo in 2021. Scroll down to find out what she has to say about the New York Governor.
Meghan McCain thinks Andrew Cuomo is a monster
While many people had the hots for New York Governor Andrew Cuomo amidst his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, he has found himself in hot water after reports exposed him hiding and delaying data regarding uncounted deaths in New York nursing homes in February 2021. According to CNN, Cuomo's administration "knowingly undercounted deaths among nursing home residents during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in the state." This revelation has prompted outrage across social media, including from Meghan McCain, who did not mince words.
"CUOMO IS A GHOUL!!!" McCain tweeted in response to a New York Post report about Cuomo's negligence. "HOW IS THIS NOT ILLEGAL?!"
In the reports published by the New York Post and CNN, one of Cuomo's secretaries, Melissa DeRosa, admitted that they "froze" when they were asked to submit death toll data about the deaths in nursing homes back in August 2020. The secretary made the admission in a video conference call with state Democratic leaders and said that their administration had to take action because they were under threat by former President Donald Trump about their COVID-19 response.
Given the controversy that has blown up, we're sure that McCain will have much more to say about Cuomo on The View.
