What Happened To The Actor Who Played Christian In Clueless?
There are so many beloved romantic comedies, with critics accepting Nora Ephron's When Harry Met Sally among the greatest of all time. But when it comes to teen romance, there are few films that top 90s classic Clueless. A modern telling of Jane Austen's Emma, the film celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2020. Although we know that onscreen lovers Alicia Silverstone and Paul Rudd went on to have successful careers, some of the ensemble cast retired from acting altogether.
Cher's (Silverstone) crushes culminated in her misguided pursuit of sophisticated and charismatic high school transfer student Christian, played by Justin Walker. Yet following his acting debut in Clueless, Walker only starred in a handful of films before concluding his acting career in 2010, per IMDb. So what happened to Walker after his scene-stealing Clueless fame? Keep scrolling to find out what Walker is up to now and his new professional projects — some of which include cooking more than just a log of pre-made cookie dough.
Justin Walker has branched out into entrepreneurship
Clueless star Justin Walker has traded in Christian's chinos for a chef's hat, Bustle reported in 2015. Walker opened a franchise location of Tacone Flavor Grill in Rancho Mirage, Calif., and he told trade publication The Franchise Mall that Tacone Flavor Grill serves "eclectic fusion-oriented" meals and are known for their "Flavor Bar" wraps. However, it appears as of this writing the business has closed.
Walker was a regional developer for mall Inland Empire in July 2004, which inspired him to purchase the restaurant. He also previously worked in the New York City food industry in the early 1990s before Clueless. Walker's entrepreneurship extends past his restaurant, though, as he also co-owns fantasy sports app Drafters, according to CinemaBlend.
As for Walker's affinity for his past character Christian? Walker told ABC News during a 20th-anniversary Clueless cast reunion video that Christian would most likely be "an aging Lady Gaga back-up dancer" in real life. As if!
