1 In 4 People Surveyed Think Zendaya Should Date This Celebrity
While she may be locking lips with Spider-Man on-screen, MJ actor and one-name celebrity Zendaya has been mum about her personal love life. After reaching success at age 14 on Disney Channel's dance-musical sitcom Shake It Up!, the triple threat, according to Insider, released her own self-titled album in 2014 (which produced the hit single, "Replay"). She also added "published author" to her CV with a tween advice book, scored a CoverGirl deal, launched a clothing line, competed on ABC's Dancing with the Stars (she came in second place in the show's 16th season), and starred in her own Disney sitcom, K.C. Undercover.
But it wasn't until 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming playing Spidey's main squeeze that Zendaya became a bona fide movie star. (Of course, we also can't forget her historic Emmy win for her incredibly successful HBO series, Euphoria.) But what has been going on in her off-screen love life? Nicki Swift conducted a survey of 627 Americans to find out who they thought the superstar should date. Is Spider-Man himself, Tom Holland, on the list? Keep reading to find out.
Yes, most people think Zendaya should date Tom Holland
Of the 627 people surveyed by Nicki Swift, 26.79 percent felt that Zendaya and Tom Holland, lovers M.J. and Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man franchise, should be smooching in real life. Despite percolating rumors of an off-screen romance, Zendaya, when asked by Variety in 2017, denied them wholly, saying "We are friends. He's a great dude... There's very few people that will understand what [going on a film press tour]'s like at 20 years old."
While the second choice for an ideal mate for Zendaya was "Other," singers Shawn Mendes and Harry Styles both made strong third and fourth showings, polling at 16.59 percent and 15.31 percent, respectively. Given Zendaya's own musical background, we aren't surprised! Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet clocked in at 8.13 percent — unsurprising, as the two actors filmed 2021's sci-fi remake Dune together, a movie in which they're also romantically involved. Zendaya's Euphoria costar, Jacob Elordi, came in sixth at 6.70 percent, which may surprise some as he is the one survey option who actually dated Zendaya... maybe. Finally, 6.06 percent of respondents thought Zendaya and Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page would be a good fit.
It certainly looks like Zendaya has her pick of handsome leading men, should she (and they) be willing!
