Basketball Wives: The Truth About Malaysia Pargo's Divorce
For fans of Basketball Wives, Malaysia Pargo is a staple. The star first entered the reality TV realm in 2011, when she starred in Basketball Wives: Los Angeles. Now, a decade later, Malaysia is coming back for the ninth season of Basketball Wives in 2021 on VH1. We can expect to see some other familiar faces as well: Shaunie O'Neal, Jackie Christie, Jennifer Williams, Kristen Scott, Ogom "OG" Chijindu, and Evelyn Lozada will star alongside Malaysia in the new season. After nearly a year off-air, fans are eager to see all the drama play out on the popular sisterhood reality show — and, if this season is like any of the others, there will be plenty of drama amongst Malaysia and the other wives.
Of course, Malaysia didn't get her title of "basketball wife" all on her own — she earned it thanks to her marriage to former NBA player Jannero Pargo. According to The Sun, the couple was married for 10 years before Malaysia filed for divorce in 2014. Since then, Malaysia has been candid about divorce and co-parenting her and Pargo's three children. Keep scrolling for all the details about the couples' split.
Malaysia Pargo has focused on her children since getting divorced
Divorce is never easy, but Malaysia Pargo handled her separation from Jannero Pargo with class. In an interview with Rolling Out, Malaysia got candid about her divorce and made it clear that her children's well-being is her top priority. "After divorce, it's not about you. It's about the kids," she explained to the publication, adding that she wanted to ensure that her kids remained "whole." Malaysia also got candid about co-parenting, saying that it's "the most important thing because, first off, you broke a home, and kids realize it." The reality star noted that she and Pargo "co-parent well" and that, despite their divorce, they can "stay in the same household" to be there for their kids.
Since her divorce from Pargo, Malaysia has focused on her children, reality TV career, and jewelry line. Though she hasn't divulged too many details about the cause of her divorce, we'll probably get some details in the upcoming season of Basketball Wives.
