The Real Life Partners Of The To All The Boys Cast
There have been a lot of popular Netflix original romantic comedies at this point, but none seems to have made an impact like the To All The Boys I've Loved Before series has. The trilogy, which is based on the popular young adult books by Jenny Han, tells the story of what happens when the letters that Lara Jean Covey (Lana Condor) wrote to all her crushes end up actually being sent, even though she never meant for any of them to read them — especially the adorable Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo).
Although fans have been rooting for Lara Jean and Peter big time (and, sometimes, even for Condor and Centineo to get together in real life), in reality, the actors who play them are in their own respective relationships, and so are many of the rest of the movie's cast members. Here are all the real life partners of the cast of To All The Boys I've Loved Before.
Lana Condor and bofriend Anthony De La Torre are going strong
In all three To All The Boys I've Loved Before films, Lana Condor plays Lara Jean Covey, the main character who often ends up a bit mixed up when it comes to her romantic feelings. On screen, she's all about Peter Kavinsky, but in real life, Condor has enjoyed a longterm relationship since 2015 with musician Anthony De La Torre, who she's been seeing since their first date to the movies to see The Gift.
In an August 2020 interview with People, Condor, who also dabbles in music, admitted that it's hard for her to be away from De La Torre when she's filming, and that the couple found ways to collaborate on creative musical projects together while stuck in quarantine. "I feel lucky to have him and have support, as I'm sure we all do during this time, because it is a lonely year. But when you have people that support you and love you, it makes things a little less scary," she said.
The feeling is definitely mutual. De La Torre frequently posts photos with Condor on Instagram, and even called her "the greatest gift [he's] ever been blessed and entrusted with." In the same post, he reminisced, "From our tiny a** apartment with a blow up twin mattress to riding horses in Kenya, it has always been an adventure. ... Thank you for changing my life, inspiring me to grow, and making everything worth it."
Did Noah Centineo and Stassie Karanikolaou debut their relationship on Halloween?
Noah Centineo was already famous before playing the role of Peter Kavinsky, one of the recipients of Lara Jean's letters in To All The Boys I've Loved Before. Since then, he's been spotted in all kinds of different Netflix original movies, from The Perfect Date to Sierra Burgess is a Loser. But what about his real love life?
Though Centineo has yet to officially confirm it, he's reportedly dating model Stassie Karanikolaou, a model who is best known for being Kylie Jenner's BFF. Us Weekly first reported that the potential couple was flirting on Instagram, and then, months later, they were still keeping it relatively low key when People reported that they held hands at a Halloween party in October 2020 (shown above).
As of this writing, Centineo and Karanikolaou haven't spoken out about this relationship, but in the past, the 24-year-old actor has shared what he's looking for in a partner. "Someone who takes care of themselves and someone honest. Those are really the two big things for me," he told E! when describing his ideal match.
Jordan Fisher and Ellie Woods are BFF spouses
Jordan Fisher joined the cast in the second movie, To All The Boys I've Loved Before: P.S. I Still Love You, playing John Ambrose, a crush from Lara Jean's past who made her confused about her feelings for Peter. In real life, Fisher, who fans might recognize from Disney Channel hits like Liv and Maddie and Teen Beach Movie, is already spoken for.
In November 2020, Fisher married his longtime girlfriend, Ellie Woods, in a ceremony at Disney World. It consisted of a small gathering after the park close, with vows, a first dance, and cake cutting before their grand exit. Though it wasn't their original plan — Fisher and Woods scrapped that due to the pandemic — told People the ceremony was "very intimate and personal," and it sounds like it was a long time coming for this couple, who had been friends since childhood, when they met while performing in a theater conservatory together.
"We already had such a great foundation. We've been together for a long time and been friends even longer than that," he said.
Woods is an actress herself, with credits in Murder Capital and A Man Down. But that's not all she has going for her. According to what Fisher told Alabama Living in 2018, she attended the University of Alabama for clinical dietetics. She's also an artist, and she began selling her paintings (along with some custom art she's created with specific buyers in mind) on Instagram in July 2020.
John Corbett has been dating Bo Derek for over 20 years
In To All The Boys, John Corbett plays Dr. Covey, Lara Jean's widowed father, who has to learn how to move on without his wife while also being a good father to his three daughters. Corbett has had a pretty impressive career spanning decades, with some of his most notable roles including Ian in My Big Fat Greek Wedding and Aidan in Sex and the City. As far as his love life goes? He's been dating actress Bo Derek (who is best known for movies like Bolero and Tommy Boy) for more than 20 years, though the couple has never married.
Corbett told Today that his agent, Norby Walters, set him up with Derek when he needed a date to the Oscars in 2002, and though he was "intimidated' at first, they hit it off right away, and it looks like there was no going back. And in an interview with Fox News, Derek said that while Corbett "makes me laugh all the time," she doesn't see marriage as a necessity, especially since they aren't at a point in their lives where they're planning to start a family together.
"He's full of life, full of joy," she said. "I became attracted to him and I still am. We take things day by day and I think we are still there."
Janel Parrish married Chris Long after a family tragedy
She might be most well known for playing Mona in Pretty Little Liars, but in To All The Boys, Janel Parrish plays Margot Covey, Lara Jean's older sister who goes away to college and has been the main female role model in her life since their mother died. While Margot does date in the movie, in real life, Parrish is currently a married woman.
In 2018, Parrish married Chris Long in her home state of Hawaii. Long is a chemical engineer who stays out of the spotlight, and Parrish has mostly avoided talking about their marriage publicly, but she does post about their relationship on Instagram, sharing photos of them together. Their wedding also made headlines for a pretty tragic reason: Long's father was killed in a motorcycle accident two weeks before he and Parrish tied the knot.
"A few weeks ago, we got the awful news that my now father in law was tragically killed by a drunk driver on his beloved Sunday motorcycle ride. Words can't explain the feeling of losing someone to something so senseless... something that could have been prevented," Parrish wrote on Instagram at the time. And when Long posted photos from the wedding, he mentioned that he was "making Pops proud."
For his part, Long also shares plenty of posts about Parrish on the app, including one where he called her "the greatest thing to happen to my life" as they celebrated their second wedding anniversary in September 2020.
Emilija Baranac and Issey Lamb are loved up but low key
Most of To All The Boys is centered on Lara Jean's romantic relationships, and when she and Peter first pretend to start dating, he's trying to make his ex-girlfriend, Gen, jealous. In the movie, Gen is played by actress Emilija Baranac, who also played Midge Klump in Riverdale as well as Jame in Beyond.
These days, Baranac seems to be in a pretty serious relationship with Issey Lamb, a fellow actor and music producer who has had small roles in Psych and Dead Zone. Like Baranac, he hails from Canada, and though he doesn't reveal much about his personal life on social media, he does seem to be especially close with his family, and there's even evidence that he attended the To All The Boys premiere with Baranac, too. Lamb and Baranac don't talk much about their relationship publicly, though they are both regular fixtures on each other's Instagram accounts. In fact, many of Lamb's posts on the apps feature Baranac as the sole subject of his photography, and she seems to be a willing model for him.
They keep their captions short and sweet, but in tribute to Lamb when he turned 28 years old in March 2020, Baranac posted a photo of him, calling him her "kindest boo."
Holland Taylor and Sarah Paulson: odd couple or perfect pair?
In the To All The Boys sequel, Holland Taylor played Stormy, the rich, fun, fabulously dressed nursing home resident with whom Lara Jean becomes close. In real life, the 78-year-old actor has been dating American Horror Story fixture Sarah Paulson since at least 2015, and despite the more than 30 year age difference between them, the couple has always seemed nothing but happy. In fact, in a 2018 interview with The Sunday Times, Paulson called Taylor "the most exquisitely beautiful woman I'd ever seen."
"I think a lot of people have a stunted way of looking at older people, it's a way of distancing themselves from something that they think will not happen to them," Paulson said at the time, adding, "I have the good fortune of being with someone who is older and wiser than I am."
And while Taylor has lamented how Paulson's busy schedule has kept them apart more often than not, it sounds like they make the time they do have together count. "It's hard to grasp normal life out of such a schedule like hers is, but her career has soared this year and she knows she has to do it while it is soaring," Taylor told Us Weekly of Paulson in 2018, adding, "She knows she has to do everything. She can't pass things by during this period, so she's doing great."
Sarayu Blue is married to producer Jonathan M. Blue
Fans might recognize Sarayu Blue as Trina Rothschild, the Coveys' neighbor who begins dating Lara Jean's dad in the To All The Boys sequel. Other than her role in the rom-com, Blue appeared in Hulu's Happiest Season, as well as TV series including Medical Police and I Feel Bad. Off screen, Blue is married to Jonathan M. Blue, a cameraman and producer who she lives with in Studio City, Calif. Though she doesn't often talk about her personal life, she did share with The Los Angeles Times that Blue is such an avid football fan, he has a dedicated "man-cave football-watching den" and even hates the color orange, because it's "the color of a sports team that was the rival to the team his family supported."
In July 2020, Blue shared that she and her husband had been married for six years. In honor of their anniversary, she posted an adorable slide show on Instagram with a caption that read, in part: "I'm still so into you. ... The night I met you I knew I liked you. A few months later I knew I loved you. I had no idea how much fun I'd keep having with you. ... Happy 6 years babe. Let's keep going."
Though Blue also works in the entertainment industry, he seems to be pretty private, but it's clear there's a lot of love between this couple.
Maddie Ziegler's musician boyfriend is going places
Best known for growing up on Dance Moms and appearing in just about every project of Sia's since, Maddie Ziegler is also part of the To All The Boys I've Loved Before cast, appearing in a very quick cameo in the second movie as a cheerleader. Since her character was so minor (bummer!), we have no idea about her on screen love life, but in real life, Ziegler has been dating Australian musician Eddie Benjamin for more than a year.
Benjamin, who, as of May 2020 was "liv[ing] full-time on Sia's L.A. compound," became close with the singer/songwriter/filmmaker when Ziegler took him to her house to play her piano. "I don't really fear much for myself, but I'm very protective of people I love," Benjamin told Sia in their chat for Interview, adding, "Parents, Maddie, you, and really close friends." In the same chat, Sia called Benjamin her "Australian son" and expressed how "extremely protective" she was over both him and Ziegler.
In addition to Sia's mentorship, Justin Bieber has also taken Benjamin under his wing, as the pair recorded the duet "That Should Be Me" in October 2020. The rising star, who has also penned songs for Megan Trainor, seems to be on the cusp of a breakout. In September 2020, he released a new single, "Speechless," which was the follow-up to "F**k My Friends," his debut track that "rack[ed] up over 2 million streams," according to a press release from Epic Records.
