Who Is Christopher Plummer's Daughter, Amanda?

Legendary actor Christopher Plummer's death had people immediately thinking about the loved ones he left behind, including his daughter, Amanda Plummer. Christopher, who was 91 years old when he died, is probably best remembered today for starring in The Sound of Music as the dashing Captain Von Trapp with Julie Andrews.

"Chris was an extraordinary man who deeply loved and respected his profession with great old fashion manners, self deprecating humour and the music of words," Lou Pitt, a close friend and Plummer's manager, said in a statement, per The Guardian. "He was a national treasure who deeply relished his Canadian roots. Through his art and humanity, he touched all of our hearts and his legendary life will endure for all generations to come. He will forever be with us."

Christopher Plummer reportedly died peacefully in his Connecticut home and is survived by Amanda as well as his wife of 54 years, Elaine.  Like many famous Hollywood stars, his daughter followed his showbiz footsteps. In fact, you may recognize Amanda from some of her biggest movies without even realizing who her dad was.

Christopher Plummer's daughter Amanda has an impressive career

Christopher Plummer's daughter Amanda Plummer is a successful actress in her own right. You probably recognize her from iconic roles like Honey Bunny in Pulp Fiction or as the quirky character of Wiress in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. More recently, she was featured in the Netflix show, Ratched.

Over the course of her career, Amanda has received plenty of critical acclaim for her work and has won more than a few high profile awards, including a Tony for Agnes of God — just like her father and her mother, Tammy Grimes, who are both Tony-award winners.

In an interview with Rolling Stone early in her career, Amanda said that while she didn't see her dad very often when she was growing up, she loves him "so f***in' much." Amanda said, "I don't know what to do with all the love I have for him. We get together now, and we have a great time."

Though she may come from a family of show-business royalty, Amanda has kept her personal life out of the public eye and doesn't appear very often in tabloids or celebrity gossip magazines. It doesn't even look like the actress is on social media. Though she might not have a social media profile, that hasn't stopped fans from taking to their own pages to digitally send their condolences to Amanda.
