Tom Brady Reacts To Mean Tweets About His Personal Life
Tom Brady is no stranger to scrutiny on the football field, and now, he's taking some heat in a different way — mean tweets! On Feb. 4, 2021 Jimmy Kimmel Live! shared a video of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback participating in the popular "Mean Tweets" segment. "Mean Tweets" is pretty straightforward: a celebrity sits on their phone and reads off mean tweets directed at them or about them. Despite some of the messages being pretty harsh, stars typically laugh them off or offer their own rebuttal. And Brady found most of his tweets to be hilarious, though some of them got a bit personal.
Some of the tweets started out innocent enough. The first one claimed that Brady "seems like he doesn't know how to hold a wrench," to which the quarterback shrugs and says, "It's kind of true." They only got worse from there, though, with one tweet referring to Brady as a "cry baby" and making fun of his cleft chin. Another tweet questioned if there was "anyone you'd rather see dropped in a vat of rendered bacon fat" more than Brady, to which the dumbfounded footballer could only laugh. But then came the more cruel insults...
Tom Brady's mean tweets started to get too personal
While Tom Brady found most of his mean tweets to be hilarious, some of them got pretty personal. One user came at Brady directly, telling him "I hope you cry," and the quarterback did admit that he does, in fact, sometimes cry. Arguably one of the funniest moments came in a tweet that also involved Brady's wife, Gisele Bundchen. While referring to the Feb. 7, 2021 Super Bowl game, one tweeter told Brady that they not only hope his team loses, but that the loss "depresses you so bad that you can hardly have sex with your supermodel wife in your giant mansion." Ouch! The football star opted to not respond to that one, simply pretending to zip his lips and move on to the next tweet.
As if bringing Bundchen into it wasn't enough, one Twitter user even mentioned Brady's dog in a rather harsh tweet, saying that they "hope [Brady's] dog eats chocolate and gets really sick and throws up on your socks." Brady found this tweet to be arguably the most messed up, though he had a slightly stronger way of phrasing it. Regardless of any mean tweets, however, Brady proved that he's a good sport both on and off the football field. And, considering that he's heading to his 10th Super Bowl on Feb. 7, it'll take more than a few mean tweets to bring the esteemed quarterback down!
