Why Mila Kunis And Ashton Kutcher Really Agreed To Star In The Cheetos Super Bowl Commercial
Though fans will always remember Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher for their iconic roles in That '70s Show, the co-stars-turned-couple haven't shared the screen much since then. In a rare occurrence, however, the actors are teaming up for an unexpected project: a Cheetos Super Bowl commercial!
Thanks to the teasers we've seen for the commercial, it quickly became one of many highly-anticipated commercials set to air during the Feb. 7, 2021 event. The commercial — which features Kunis, Kutcher, and musician Shaggy — takes a fun twist on the latter's hit song, "It Wasn't Me."
In the video, which you can watch on Cheetos' official YouTube channel, Kutcher hilariously catches Kunis sneaking the cheesy snack into some compromising places, to which she shifts the blame and quips, "It wasn't me," each time. Kutcher, Kunis, and their family have been lying low because of the pandemic, but as it turns out, they had a surprising reason for jumping in on the Cheetos commercial — keep scrolling to read more about it.
Mila Kunis was eager to get back to work
When Mila Kunis first saw the script for the Cheetos Super Bowl commercial, she knew it was too good to pass up. While speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Kunis recounted her decision to do the commercial with her husband, Ashton Kutcher. "In the midst of quarantine, they sent us this ad to do and every time I've ever been offered a Super Bowl ad it's always a female having to be scantily clad," she explained. When she read the Cheetos script, she knew it was a great opportunity: "I started laughing so hard and Ashton was like, 'This is kind of funny.' And I was like, 'We should do it!'"
While Kunis thought the script was funny, she had other reasons to jump on the commercial. In the same interview with ET, Kunis opened up about the toll that quarantine has taken on her family life at home. "It was quarantine and we were stuck with our children for nine, 12, months at this moment, and I was like, 'Two days, baby! Two days off,'" she said, adding that she had "never been so excited to wake up at five in the morning to be like, 'I'm going to work!'"
Of course, the low-key couple has been enjoying private time at home, but for Kunis, the hilarious and easygoing Cheetos commercial was the perfect project to ease back into work.
