Armie Hammer's Wife Has Something To Say About The Controversy
In January 2021, Armie Hammer found himself in the headlines quite a bit — and not for the best reasons. After screenshots leaked in which the actor allegedly describes some disturbing sexual fantasies, including cannibalism, Hammer has seemingly been getting the cold shoulder in Hollywood. While it remains unverified whether or not the screenshots are real, some of Hammer's ex-girlfriends are stepping forward in light of the scandal with some more accusations.
Paige Lorenze, who Hammer dated for a few months in 2020, spoke with Page Six about their relationship. Lorenze alleged that the actor was into knife play, even going so far as to allegedly carve an "A" into her skin. While Hammer has been keeping a low-profile since the scandal started, he has refuted the claims, calling them "vicious and spurious online attacks against [him]" (via Variety).
Despite his denial of the claims, Hammer has now dropped out of two projects: Shotgun Wedding, which he was set to star in alongside Jennifer Lopez, and The Offer, a spinoff series based on The Godfather. Meanwhile, eyes have also been on Hammer's estranged wife, Elizabeth Chambers, who has not commented on the controversy — until now.

Elizabeth Chambers breaks her silence on the scandal ... kind of
Elizabeth Chambers and Armie Hammer had been married for 10 years before announcing their separation in 2020. Despite speculation about the real reason for their split, the two seemingly maintained an amicable front for the sake of their two children, Harper Grace and Ford Armand Douglas. However, when Hammer's scandal began and continued to escalate, many started wondering if Chambers would comment on the rumors. And, as it turns out, the answer is yes, but not in the way that you may think.
According to an Instagram post shared by Just Jared, Luca Guadagnino and Timothée Chalamet — a.k.a. the director of Chalamet and Hammer's 2017 film Call Me By Your Name — "are teaming up for a ... cannibal love story movie." Per Just Jared, Hammer is not slated to be part of the project. If you find this announcement to be painfully on-the-nose given Hammer's scandal, you aren't the only one.
Chambers herself commented on the post, breaking her silence with a simple comment: "No. Words." The comment — which you can see for yourself thanks to the Instagram account Comments by Celebs — doesn't give us much insight into Chambers' thoughts about the scandal, but it is the first we've heard from her since it began. Considering the sensitivity of the issue — along with the fact that she and Hammer have children together — it's safe to say that we probably won't hear much else from her anytime soon.
