The Truth About Eric Church's Wife
Eric Church, country music superstar, is putting his chops to the test by singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl LV with Jazmine Sullivan on Feb. 7, 2021. Church shared the exciting news in a post on Instagram and fans went wild with anticipation, many calling for him to get the halftime show one day. That may come, but the 2021 halftime slot is going to The Weeknd, which will be a great followup to the stunning performance given in 2020 by Jennifer Lopez and Shakira.
With Church making headlines in such a major way, fans are dying to get to know more about the singer-songwriter, especially his family life. Church is actually married, and his wife is involved in the music world in a really interesting way. Katherine Blasingame worked as a music publisher, according to Taste of Country. It will come as no surprise that this is how they met. She was trying to get Church to work with a writer she was representing, Church told the outlet. (Fun note: there were no hints of working with Garth Brooks. Church can't stand him!)
Church said Blasingame's knowledge of the industry is a huge advantage because he can bounce ideas off of her. Sounds like both a love match and a power couple! Here's the scoop about Church's talented wife.
Eric Church found his muse in Katherine Blasingame
Eric Church and Katherine Blasingame tied the knot in 2008 in Blowing Rock, N.C., according to CMT, because it was such a meaningful place to them. "Katherine and I stayed there, and we just fell in love with the place," Church explained. "We decided that it would be the ideal spot to get married, up in the North Carolina mountains, with just family around us. I can't imagine a more perfect spot," Church told the outlet.
Blasingame's experience in the music industry is a huge help to Church when he's in a creative space. He told Taste of Country in 2012, "I can bounce songs off of her and she has the knowledge, you know, to be kind of that sounding board of what I should cut and what I shouldn't cut. So, she's one of those in the inner circle that I run a lot of stuff by."
They've also become parents in the process. Blasingame and Church welcomed a son, Boone McCoy Church, in 2011, according to Wide Open Country, and a second son, Tennessee "Hawk" Hawkins in 2015.
Blasingame has also been Church's muse. He wrote one of his most popular songs, "Like Jesus Does" from his album Chief, after being inspired by the love he felt from her, according to CMT. With lyrics like, "But she carries me, when my sins make me heavy / And loves me like Jesus does," no wonder it's become such a popular love song.
