Bachelorette Contestant Already Asks Out Newly Single Clare
Even as the 25th season of The Bachelor is under way, it seems like there has been a large amount of remaining buzz about 2020's Bachelorette season.
Season 16 of the hit reality dating series was unprecedented. First, the show turned heads when Clare Crawley was announced as the oldest leading lady in Bachelor Nation history. (According to Us Weekly, complaints then circulated that the contestants on the show were far too young to be seriously looking for an engagement.)
Then, just hours before she was scheduled to meet her suitors, filming of Clare's season was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Casting changes were made — such as taking one of Clare's original contestants and making him the next Bachelor. The season finally was taped in quarantine at a resort outside of Los Angeles, CA.
Many rumors swirled about Clare ending her time as the Bachelorette to pursue a relationship with contestant Dale Moss prior to her season airing. The speculation ended up being true, and just weeks into her season, Clare was replaced with Bachelor Nation's Tayshia Adams.
Fans have enjoyed following Clare and Dale's romantic journey, which has been shared all over social media. However, troubles quickly brewed and the engagement abruptly ended in January 2021, just months after Dale got down on one knee to ask for Clare's hand in marriage. Even after a public whirlwind romance, it seems that Clare is still garnering the attention of suitors, because a former contestant has already asked her out.
Is Clare Crawley ready to move on?
Just hours after Dale Moss announced that he and Clare Crawley had gone their separate ways, former Bachelorette contestant Spencer Robertson decided to take his chance with Clare by mentioning her in his Instagram Story. "Coffee @clarecrawley?" he wrote, according to Just Jared. Spencer entered the Bachelorette resort following Clare's departure for a chance at love with Tayshia Adams. He received Tayshia's first impression rose, but their chemistry quickly fizzled and he was sent home.
Clare has yet to respond to Spencer and still hasn't publicly addressed her split from Dale. It seems that she is currently focused on spending time with her ailing mother, who suffers from Alzheimer's and dementia. Her most recent post at the time of Dale's breakup announcement was a photo of her holding her mother's hand. In the caption she reflected on spending time with her mom and getting through hard times — possibly hinting at her heartache from her split.
"I'm so thankful to be able to see my mom in person now. I get so emotional because this time is precious and I know means everything to both of us, especially as her mind is slipping away and her body is getting weaker," she said. "She has good days and bad, Just like we all do. Well today I couldn't hide my hard day. A mother always knows. Without saying a word, she reached in her pocket and pulled out this tissue and just squeezed my hand."
What happened to Clare and Dale?
Clare Crawley and Dale Moss seemed like a perfect match when they left The Bachelorette in love and engaged. Clare made it very clear she knew exactly what she wanted and deserved, and even said she was ready to have kids with Dale as they left the show, as per Cosmo.
In the end, though, it seems like the hair stylist and former NFL player realized they were at different spots in their life. "There's a whole bunch of problems between them," a source told Page Six. "I don't know what the specific breaking point was, but she wants him to move to Sacramento and he's not crazy about that. She wants kids right away, he doesn't."
Fans got a whiff of drama between the two when Dale's cousin, Debo Mils, and Clare unfollowed each other on Instagram. Debo wrote a cryptic message on Instagram after they unfollowed each other, per Page Six. "We know the truth! Now unfollow us in real life," he said.
Dale posted about the breakup on Instagram on Jan. 19, 2021. "I wanted to share with you all that Clare and I have decided to go our separate ways. We appreciate the love and support we've received from so many people, but this is the healthiest decision for both of us at this time," he stated. He added that they will continue to follow their values by being their truest selves. He asked for privacy during the difficult time.
