The Last Time Melania And Ivanka Trump Were Seen Together
It's been a minute since we've seen Melania and Ivanka Trump exchange dirty looks on the world stage. The first lady has been notably absent from the limelight following Donald Trump's 2020 election loss and seemed to hide even more after the Capitol riots on Jan. 6, 2021. For Ivanka, who allegedly advised Trump to denounce the violence at the Capitol, it's business as usual. Despite their contrasting behaviors in Trump's final days in office, it seems like the ladies have always had a tense relationship.
Melania's former senior advisor, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, alleged they had a contentious relationship, claiming Melania had called Ivanka a "snake" and nicknamed her "Princess" in her book, The Rise and Fall of My Friendship With the First Lady, per Elle. Following the news of the tell-all, Melania was spotted at the Republican National Convention giving Ivanka a pretty shady glare, which, of course, Twitter was quick to spot.
After the telling moment at the RNC, the Trump women were spotted sitting next to each other at the Sept. 29, 2020, presidential debate in Cleveland, Ohio. They were also both seen at Trump's "victory" speech (despite Joe Biden's lead and eventual win of the 2020 election) according to NDTV. Although they haven't been photographed together since, the women appeared to be in each other's company in the weeks following Trump's election loss as he attempted to convince voters the election was "rigged." Melania and Ivanka tried to put on a happy front
In the weeks following Donald Trump's 2020 election loss, it appears his family have tried to put on a happy front despite the president's behavior, including baseless claims the election was fraudulent and inciting violence at the United States Capitol. Aside from the reports about Melania and Ivanka Trump's contentious relationship, they were in each other's company a number of times after Trump falsely declared victory on Nov. 4, 2020.
Both women were then present at the White House on Thanksgiving for the Presidential Turkey Pardoning, and all the Trumps were also in attendance at the White House's Christmas Eve festivities, which was organized by the first lady. Ivanka took a moment to appreciate Melania's hard work on the Christmas décor, writing on Instagram, "Touring @FLOTUS's dazzling 2020 White House Christmas decorations Friday evening!" However, the Trumps spent New Year's Eve separately, as the president and first lady headed back to Washington D.C., while the rest of the family enjoyed an evening at Mar-a-Lago, per The Palm Beach Post.
Following the holiday season, Melania and Ivanka got back to business and were both seen by Trump's side at the Georgia runoff elections on Jan. 5, 2020, per Newsweek. Of course, we know what happened the very next day, which seemed to add more tension in the house of Trump. WIth official duties for the Trump administration coming to an end, it's hard to say when — or if — Melania and Ivanka will be seen together again.
