The Truth About OutDaughtered Star Danielle's Mystery Illness
In a world where TLC rules the realm of reality TV families — Jon and Kate Plus 8, 19 Kids And Counting, and Sweet Home Sextuplets to name a few —Outnumbered was the perfect fit for devoted viewers.
The show, which premiered in 2016, follows proud parents Danielle and Adam Busby as they raise their six daughters, Blayke (born in 2011), as well as Ava, Olivia, Hazel, Riley, and Parker Busby, aka the first set of all-female quintuplets in the United States. The family is known for being loud, chaotic, but above all, they have a lot of fun.
Throughout the seven seasons of the wildly popular series, the Houston, Texas family has gained millions of fans who enjoy watching Danielle and Adam navigate the usual ups and downs of marriage while raising their own little tribe of adorable cuties. For this reason, it pained many fans when they heard the news in late 2020 that Danielle was suffering from a mysterious condition. The concern mounted even more when in January 2021, Adam shared a new update about Danielle's health.
Adam Busby asked fans for their prayers
Danielle Busby first opened up about her unexplained medical condition in November 2020 on Instagram. "I have been seeing multiple doctors to try & help figure out what's going on with me. I was led to the care of a cardiologist and rheumatologist, who have both been amazing," the OutDaughtered star wrote in an Instagram Story at the time, according to Us Weekly. "Lots of tests have been done for both doctors ... some results have come back OK, and some ... not so much."
On Jan. 5, 2021, Danielle's husband and the father of their six daughters took to Instagram to update fans on his wife's mysterious illness. Alongside a picture of the six-time mom, Adam wrote in the caption, "Praying it leads to answers and a clear direction for the doctors. This is all we are comfortable with sharing at the moment. Please respect that in this current time of uncertainty and refrain from speculation. Just asking for prayers. We will definitely share updates as Danielle is comfortable."
The reality television star also wrote a thankful note to fans in his Instagram story, writing, per Entertainment Tonight, "Thank you everyone for all of the prayer, comments and messages today. The prayers were definitely felt."
