How Sandra Lee Is Planning On Losing 30 Pounds
Celebrity chef Sandra Lee had quite the life-changing 2020. About one year after she and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced their split after more than a decade together, Lee shared on Instagram that she officially moved out of the Mount Kisco, New York estate that she shared with Cuomo. "Today will be one of the saddest days of my life. Today is the day that I do the final move out from Lily Pond. I love that house and I have a personal relationship with every single room of that home," she wrote. "I hope the new owners take care of it as well as I did and I will love it forever."
On top of a heartbreaking split from Cuomo and her house, the Semi-Homemade Cooking host has now admitted that she gained 30 pounds during the difficult year. Of course, 2020 was a shocking year for all as the world was shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic. Furthermore, a global study published in the National Library of Medicine obesity journal showed that the pandemic encouraged people to stay home and exercise less, which caused a general weight gain among those surveyed. So, while the celebrity chef is not alone with gaining the "quarantine fifteen" and then some, she isn't going to let the pandemic affect her health anymore. Keep reading to learn how Sandra Lee is planning on losing 30 pounds.
Sandra Lee is taking her health back
Sandra Lee took to Instagram on Jan. 4, 2021 to declare that she is getting serious about her health in 2021. "With Christmas in a bag in my backseat today really starts the first day of the working New Year. So today I'm going to start a cleanse," she announced. Lee gained 30 pounds in 2020 and weighed in at 170 pounds right before Christmas. "None of my clothes fit and worse i feel terrible. I feel my very best at 140 pounds," she admitted.
The celebrity chef found her new weight loss "regimen" through her sister, and also listed Rebel Wilson as her "Health Hero." The cleanse has her eating "lots of vegetables and berries, banana, watermelon, avocado," fermented foods like sauerkraut and pickles, coffee, tea, loads of vitamins, and "lots of water." She is also abstaining from alcohol.
Since beginning her cleanse on Christmas day, Lee has dropped ten pounds. However, the new diet has her feeling a bit uneasy. "My energy isn't super awesome though (1250 calories a day is tough — I LIKE TO EAT!)," she said. "Tomorrow or the next day I'm going to go get a vitamin IV and hope that that helps a little bit."
She concluded her post by encouraging fans to share their health goals with her. "I would love to know what your health plans are for the new year and hope that you stay the course and fulfill them alongside me," she suggested.
