Kelly Ripa And Megyn Kelly Talk Botox Nightmares And Spanx
Kelly Ripa bonded with Megyn Kelly over their beauty routines on the November 9th, 2016, episode of Live! With Kelly, giving the Fox News hostess a break from constant political coverage.
Ripa opened the discussion by talking about her "good side."
"Sitting here right now, I'm so glad that you're seeing me from the left, because this is my only good side," Kelly said. "I'm hideous from the right—don't look! I look good on the left—I nailed it on the left." Kelly added that in a recent photo shoot, the photographer asked her for "more profile," which she found horrifying. "I left feeling like Phantom Of The Opera. I was like, 'Oh my God, it's so much worse than I thought. What happened in utero?!' My mom was like, 'I only smoked in the last trimester.'"
"I'm going to tell you a story I've never told anyone," Ripa, 46, added (via People). "I got bad Botox about...a year ago. And it was bad. It did something to my good side, so then I had two bad sides. I'm not kidding!"
She added, "I'm starting to look myself again, but there was about a six-month period where people were like, 'What's wrong with Kelly? She doesn't smile anymore.' And I was like, 'I am smiling!'"
Later, Ripa discussed how she's looking forward to all of her kids with husband Mark Consuelos going to college. (Ripa's oldest son, Michael, began college at New York University in September.)
"I want to be an empty-nester. Rob Lowe told me that once your kids leave, it is all nude, all the time," Ripa cracked. "He said, 'Kelly, we have not put clothes on since the kids left for college.'"
Kelly, 45, replied, "Well, you're Kelly Ripa, so you're looking forward to that. I'm like...," she trailed off with a cringe. "Nobody wants to see that."
An eye-rolling Ripa scoffed, "Oh yeah, nobody wants to see that. I can tell you right now, there are several men in the audience [raising their hands]. There are some women too!"
"It's an illusion," Kelly laughed. "It starts with a beautiful product called Spanx, you're well aware. If you can put on a little self-tanner, it takes off 10 lbs. instantly."
