How Peter Weber's Mom Really Feels About Kelley Flanagan After Their Split
The Bachelor fans will never forget Peter Weber's mom Barb Weber crying "bring her home" after meeting Hannah Ann Sluss. Thus, when Peter dumped Hannah Ann for Madison Prewett (which lasted for two days after his finale aired in March 2020, but the way), it is fair to assume Barb was happy. After all, Barb infamously told them their relationship wouldn't work on live TV. Clearly, Barb has no problem sharing her opinions on Peter's love life.
Then, in April 2020, photos surfaced of Peter and Kelley Flanagan, who finished in fifth place during his season, which marked the (public) start of their post-show romance. Even before those pictures hit the internet, Barb was vocal about her adoration for Kelley. In March 2020, People reported that Barb commented on one of Kelley's Instagrams, suggesting, "We need to do lunch and go shopping for the day." She described Kelley as "The Most Beautiful, Elegant, Classy, Intelligent Stylish Girl in the World!!!" in addition to sharing, "You were and will always be my Fav rav."
According to Entertainment Tonight, Barb was following Kelley on Instagram before Peter's season even finished airing. Speaking in the third person, Kelley told ET, "She stans Kelley, which I just learned, which is really funny." She also revealed that Barb "would not leave until" they met at Peter's finale. Barb told Kelley, "You're beautiful, I love you. I was your fan since day one." So, does that mean Barb is taking Peter and Kelley's breakup pretty hard? Or is she just #TeamPeter after the December 2020 split?
Kelley Flanagan was the daughter Barb Weber always wanted
Peter Weber announced his split from Kelley Flanagan in December 2020 via Instagram, which seemed pretty sudden. However, Kelley was not photographed celebrating Peter's mom Barb Weber's birthday along with the rest of the family, including Peter's brother Jack Weber's girlfriend Kristine Bruun-Andersen. Barb shared that picture on Instagram three days before Peter posted about the breakup. Per People, Barb commented on Peter's breakup announcement, declaring, "it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all." Speaking on behalf of herself and her husband, Peter Weber Sr., Barb commented, "Our hearts ache for you two. Kelley will always have a piece of our hearts and we wish her only the best. Mom and Dad."
It is not a surprise that Barb's heart "ached" for Kelly and Peter in the wake of their split since she told Chris Harrison that Kelley is "the daughter that I've always wanted" during The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever, which aired in June 2020 (via People). Barb told The Bachelor host, "I love her. I love her so much. We get along so great." In August 2020, Barb posted side-by-side childhood photos of Peter and Kelley, declaring, "One year ago today it was in the stars for them to meet!!" She described their romance as "serendipity" in May 2020.
Needless to say, Barb will always be one of Peter's top supporters, but it seems like she'll probably miss having Kelley around.
