The Real Reason Peter Weber And Kelley Flanagan Split
Peter Weber and Kelley Flanagan are done. The former star of The Bachelor posted the news on Instagram on Dec. 31, 2020.
"Love is a funny thing," he wrote alongside a photo of the two of them. "It can make you feel on top of the world and it can make you feel a pain you wish didn't exist. I'm here to share that Kelley and I have decided to go our separate ways. While our relationship was filled with countless beautiful memories, our relationship simply didn't work out in the end. Kelley is someone I will always have a special love for. Someone I have learned more from than she will ever understand. Someone I am so thankful came into my life and someone who I will always wish all of life's greatest blessings on. These moments in life always hurt, but in my opinion that shows you it was worth the time you spent together. Thank you Kelley."
The news is a surprise to Bachelor Nation. The Bachelor star and Kelley were reportedly planning to move to New York City together in January 2021 (via Us Weekly). Keep reading to find out what happened between Peter and Kelley.
The split might have to do with Peter Weber's indecisiveness
Did Peter Weber break up with Kelley Flanagan? The former Bachelor is known for being indecisive.
At the end of his season on The Bachelor, he got engaged to Hannah Ann Sluss. He confessed to Hannah Ann, though, that he still had feelings for runner-up Madison Prewett and that was pretty much the end of the engagement. In the final episode of the season, Madison and Peter cautiously talked about trying to date. However, the relationship burnt out quickly.
After Peter's season of The Bachelor was over, he started dating Kelley. The Chicago attorney was one of the contestants on Season 24 of The Bachelor, but she did not make it to the finale. Peter and Kelley actually met at a wedding before he became The Bachelor and she made such an impression that he and production asked her to join the show. Despite initially eliminating her, he ultimately decided he did want to date her.
In an April 2020 interview on Nick Viall's Viall Files podcast, Peter talked about his relationship with Kelley, saying, "My relationship with Kelley has just been a lot of things that have kind of been serendipitous." The wishy-washy way they got together, however, could have played a part in their ultimate downfall.
Peter's Instagram note about the breakup doesn't give us many clues, but it does make it sound like the split was amicable. As of this writing, Kelley has not mentioned the split.
