Constance Wu's Secret Pregnancy Explained
When it comes to Constance Wu's professional life, she can be proud of — or, if she's in the mood, can downright brag about — the fact that she's achieved an enviable amount of success in the entertainment industry. That's because along with winning over countless fans as Jessica Huang on the family-oriented comedy series Fresh Off the Boat from 2015 until 2020, Wu also starred as Rachel Chu in 2018's Crazy Rich Asians alongside Henry Golding and Michelle Yeoh. Beyond that, she popped up as Destiny in 2019's Hustlers alongside show business A-listers Jennifer Lopez and Cardi B.
That's not to mention the fact that Wu earned a Golden Globe nomination for her critically-acclaimed role in Crazy Rich Asians, while also "zooming into the spotlight as a rising Hollywood star," according to the Los Angeles Times. While Wu has obviously become a big name and a recognizable face in Hollywood, you may not know all that much about her personal life. That's because she's the kind of celebrity who likes to keep her personal life a secret. Indeed, while some stars secretly date and others secretly get married, it turns out that Wu secretly had a baby and the public was totally unaware!
Constance Wu had a baby with her musician boyfriend
It's hard to imagine anyone being surprised by Constance Wu delivering a stellar performance onscreen considering the fact that she's become famous for doing just that. However, she can apparently still shock fans in a very different way. That's just what happened at the end of 2020 when the public found out that the star had welcomed a baby into the world!
"The news comes as a surprise to Wu's fans, as the actress never publicly revealed that she was pregnant," per Entertainment Tonight. One of the reasons fans were out of the loop in this particular situation was because, as ET notes, Wu "kept a low profile since March [2020], when the U.S. shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic." On top of that, she "also remained inactive on social media since May [2020]."
Granted, the star's stealthy ways didn't stop E! News from finding out and revealing on Dec. 28, 2020, that Wu is now the mother of a little girl who was born in the summer of 2020. This is the first child for the actress who shares her daughter with boyfriend Ryan Kattner. A source told E! that Wu and Kattner, who's a musician, "are doing great, and they're so excited and happy."
Congratulations to both Wu and Kattner, and welcome to the world, little one!
