The Bachelor: Whatever Happened To Caila Quinn?
Caila Quinn didn't have the easiest time finding love on reality television. The world first met the content creator when she competed for Ben Higgins' heart on Season 20 of The Bachelor. She came in third place on Ben's season and later appeared on the Bachelor in Paradise, where she was intertwined in a love triangle with Jared Haibon and Ashley Iaconetti, per Us Weekly.
Caila was then set to take a new shot at love as the Bachelorette, but in a last-minute switch, JoJo Fletcher was announced as the leading lady for 2016 during Ben's After the Final Rose event. Caila didn't seem to mind her lost chance at love and shared a photo with both JoJo, Ben's runner-up, and Lauren Bushnell, the winner of Ben's season, on Instagram. "Congratulations to these beautiful girls! From dancing in our pjs in the Mansion to Mexico City mimosas, can't help but smile at all of the fun memories," she gushed. "Sending love as the journey isn't over, it's only just beginning."
Since Ben's season, the top three ladies have all moved onto new romances. Ben and Lauren broke up just over a year after his season aired. Ben is now engaged to business owner Jessica Clarke, Lauren is married to singer Chris Lane, and JoJo is engaged to Jordan Rodgers.
Caila has also moved onto a new life post Ben and post Bachelor. Keep scrolling to learn what happened to Caila since her days on reality television.
Caila Quinn is planning a new life
Caila Quinn announced she was engaged to boyfriend of two years Nick Burrello on Jan. 4, 2020. In an interview published by Us Weekly the same day, she detailed the "very romantic, elaborate" evening with her beau. First, Nick planned a weekend with both of their parents and told Caila he wanted to take her to dinner beforehand. "As we start walking up the table at sunset, by the beach, there was an acoustic guitar playing this beautiful romantic song," Caila recalled to the news outlet, adding that she started tearing up. "And it was just a special evening where we had dinner by the ocean and we kind of talked about our relationship, our lives together," she continued. Then, he asked her to slow dance, which is when he popped the question. Both sets of parents showed up to celebrate and the night ended with a stay at the Ritz Carlton.
Unfortunately, their wedding planning hasn't been as dreamy as their engagement. They originally planned to tie the knot in 2021, in both a European wedding and one closer to home in Cleveland, Ohio. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, both weddings have since been canceled. Speaking to other "COVID brides," Caila looked to a positive future. "After all of this your relationship will be stronger & for the rest of your lives you can laugh about this chapter together," she wrote on Instagram.
Caila Quinn is thankful for her past as she moves onto her new life
While it may not have been an easy journey, Caila Quinn is thankful for her past heartbreak because it brought her to where she is today. "I feel really lucky because I feel like I wasn't meant to go on the show to find love there," she told Us Weekly in January 2020. "I was meant to go on the show to find Nick [Burrello]. If I wasn't on the show, I wouldn't ever have met him because I would never have been a blogger," she hypothesized. Caila met Nick after a New York Fashion Week event she was covering for her blog, per Entertainment Tonight. "So, I think everything happens for a reason and I thank God every day," she said to Us Weekly.
Since cancelling her extravagant wedding plans with Nick in October 2020, Caila shared that they are planning something new and already sent out "change-the-dates" to friends and family. "After some exploration, we are excited to finally move forward with plans we feel confident in," she wrote on Instagram. While there is no further update on when or where the happy couple will walk down the aisle, the lifestyle expert has been busy giving her followers a look at dresses she didn't choose for her big day. While she never received a final rose on The Bachelor, it seems that Caila was more than happy to trade her reality television mishaps for a ring and a happily ever after.
