Ryan Reynolds proposed to Blake Lively with a 12-carat custom engagement ring
Allow us to introduce you to Blake Lively a.k.a. Mrs. Reynolds' rock — a ring that could probably use its own zip code, if we are being honest. Ryan Reynolds stunned the world when he proposed to the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants star with an estimated $2 million engagement ring designed by none other than jeweler to the stars, Lorraine Schwarz. During an interview with Vogue, the A-list actress gushed about the ring that she referred to as her "most treasured possession."
"My most treasured possession is my engagement ring made by my dear friend Lorraine Schwartz, because of the love and meaning it symbolizes," Lively explained. She quickly added that her hubby also took no input from her when co-crafting the masterpiece with the famed jeweler. "No, I didn't have any hand in its design — I married a gentleman," she revealed. Can you imagine your future husband designing a 12-carat sparkler for you all by himself? Neither can we... But one can dream, though, right?!
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively's wedding was the stuff fairy tales are made of
If you thought Blake Lively's engagement ring was lavish, just wait until you hear all about their dreamy nuptials! As reported by Southern Living, the two love birds opted to exchange their I do's at Boone Hall Plantation in Seabrook Island, S.C., a small town just south of Charleston.
But, if you think the buck stops there, think again. As reported by People, the bride stunned wedding guests when she wore a custom Marchesa gown complete with a "hand-draped silk tulle bodice adorned with crystal and rose gold embroidery." To complement the bride, her bridesmaids donned blush-toned silk chiffon gowns adorned with crystal embroidered detail and, of course, Louboutin shoes. Meanwhile, the groom and his groomsmen opted for smart Burberry suits with leather suspenders and the works.
The reception took place in a pristine white tent on the plantation and, along with the bride and groom, the wedding guests danced the night away to performances by Florence and the Machine's Florence Welch.
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively reside in a luxe mansion in suburbia
While many picture Gossip Girl star Blake Lively residing in the Upper East Side (4 LYFE), the wife and mother of three chose a different home base for her family. Per Hello Magazine, Lively and hubby Ryan Reynolds plunked down a cool $2 million for a home in the Westchester County of New York. Basically, the couple gets the best of both worlds — a large lot (11.65 acres, to be exact) that is still just a short drive to Manhattan. What's not to love?
It was also reported that the mansion contains seven bedrooms and six bathrooms — plenty of room for the power couple's growing brood, which includes daughters Inez, Betty, and James... and any future children that might come along, of course.
Perhaps Lively's favorite feature in the home, however, is her massive walk-in wardrobe. The private actress gave fans a rare glimpse into the home when she took to Instagram to show off her the massive closet, complete with a center island and beaucoups of shelves to house her extensive shoe, handbag, and jewelry collection. We are pretty sure we could live comfortably in that closet alone.
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively love to give back
We would be remiss if, in the midst of discussing the spending habits of wealthy A-list couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, we failed to mention their philanthropic efforts. In short: the couple loves to give back.
Most recently, the couple set their sights on the COVID-19 pandemic and how they could personally help combat the virus. As reported by New York Daily News, the power couple donated a whopping $400K to four New York hospitals and donated 30 percent of Reynolds' sales from his liquor brand, Aviation Gin, to bartenders who suddenly found themselves unemployed amidst COVID-19. But that's not all! The couple took it one step further when they donated a staggering $1 million large to be split amongst non-profit titan organizations Feeding America and Foodbanks Canada.
And somehow the couple did it all while remaining ever so humble about their generous contributions. On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Reynolds referred to his "obscene privilege" that afforded him the opportunity to donate to the charities in the first place. "If you're a company that's staying afloat and doing well, you got to give back," he noted.
It is also listed on the Covenant House Vancouver's website that Reynolds and Lively have donated $500,000 to the organization in the past in an effort to help at-risk homeless youth, as reported by People. It is apparent that their COVID-19 charitable contributions are not just a one-off, but more so indicative of their attitudes regarding philanthropy in general.
