The Truth About Kristen Bell And Matthew Morrison's Romance

These days, when you think of actress Kristen Bell, you not only think of her successful acting career, but also her life with husband Dax Shepard and their two daughters, Delta and Lincoln.

The Good Place star and Shepard have been married since 2013 and have been very open about their marriage, parenting, and even more personal struggles the couple have faced, including the Armchair Expert's relapse with a pill addiction in the fall of 2020. Yet the two are still going very strong, with Bell saying on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in early 2020, "I will continue to stand by him because he's very, very worth it."

With all that said, it's very hard to imagine the Frozen star with anyone else but Shepard. Yet, Shepard isn't Bell's first celebrity romance. At one point, the Forgetting Sarah Marshall actress dated Glee star Matthew Morrison and even appears to have a cute nickname for him. She told Us Weekly back in 2010, "I actually went to college with Matty Morrison," and added, "we actually dated very briefly."

While the two obviously have a couple things in common — being super talented and a love of musicals — it's a still surprising celebrity couple that definitely flew under the radar.

Veronica Mars actress Kristen Bell and Dr. Seuss' The Grinch Musical Live! star Matthew Morrison went to college together and even briefly dated years ago. 

Bell told Us Weekly in 2010 about their short-lived romance, which appeared to have ended on good terms. The Bad Moms star even said, "I'll have to say maybe Matt Morrison is my favorite part of Glee for various reasons."

While his relationship with Bell stayed out of the headlines, Morrison was later known for being linked to several other leading ladies. According to Good Housekeeping, some of his high-profile relationships included actress Olivia Munn, model Kelly Brook, fellow Glee co-star Lea Michele, and Selling Sunset's Chrishell Stause.

But just as Bell found her love in comedian Dax Shepard, Morrison also found his in musician and model Renee Puente, whom he married in 2014 and with whom he shares a son. The What to Expect When You're Expecting actor told Good Housekeeping about how she feels about his romantic past, saying "Honestly, she loves the fact that I went through all that — a lot of relationships, some one-night stands." He added, "I learned a lot about who I was and, more importantly, the person I wanted to be with. My wife came into my life at such a great time."

It appears Bell and Morrison have found their own separate happy endings but have nothing but good feelings about their time together as a couple.
