Cole DeBoer: What Chelsea Houska's Husband Does For A Living
Aside from the adorable kids, there's another reason fans tune into MTV's Teen Mom 2 season after season: all of the drama. From tensions over custody to relationship hardships, there's no shortage of scandals among the cast of the spin-off series to 16 and Pregnant. Fans have watched these moms grow up from apprehensive teenagers into powerhouse parents. It's certainly impressive, but that doesn't mean it's always easy.
While the Teen Mom 2 cast has faced plenty of love-life woes, there's one standout story that's seemingly stood the test of time: Chelsea Houska's relationship with Cole DeBoer. Although original fans know Chelsea didn't have the easiest time with ex Adam Lind (who's the father of her first child Aubree), she's found her happily-ever-after with Cole. They celebrated their fourth anniversary in October 2020, which Chelsea commemorated on Instagram, writing, "Happy 4th anniversary to the love of my life! So beyond grateful for the life we are building together. You are the most incredible and kind person and I am SO proud to be your wife."
Together, Cole and Chelsea have built quite the supportive little family in South Dakota. In addition to Aubree (who sweetly added Cole's last name to her own), the couple shares two more children Watson and Layne — and there's another bundle of joy on the way. But when he's not attending father-daughter dances with Aubree or offering moral support for Chelsea's clothing line endeavors, what does Cole do for a career? Let's take a closer look.
Cole DeBoer balances his day job with a few side hustles
Not only does Teen Mom 2's Cole DeBoer keep drama under control at home, but managing stressful situations is kind of his jam. According to Glossyfied, Cole works as a traffic control specialist. The outlet explained that this means he's "responsible for ensuring that roads and highways are in good condition at all times. The actual day-to-day work is pretty hands-on and may involve cutting brush that has grown along the roadside, removing obstacles on roads, placing snow way makers, and overseeing road maintenance workers." The role reportedly earns an average of $42K a year.
For the record, Cole's wife Chelsea Houska isn't the only one getting her entrepreneur on. Per In Touch Weekly, Cole launched his own sock line in 2017. And in 2019, he announced the Chelsea + Cole Collection with a company called Itzy Ritzy, writing on IG, "We're beyond excited to announce that we're collaborating with @itzyritzy on a collection of cool products for everyone and parents just like us!!!" The collection includes diaper bags and blankets.
His Instagram bio also mentions an account he and Chelsea share called Down Home DeBoers, which boasts about "bringing our farmhouse dreams to life." The page gives a look at the couple's home renovations, as well as a link to a wallpaper line. In other words, this Teen Mom 2 pair knows how to capitalize on their strengths and the spotlight, and their fans seem very here for it.
