This Is Why Rob Kardashian Skipped Kim And Kanye's Wedding
It's been more than six years since Rob Kardashian skipped his sister Kim Kardashian's wedding to rapper Kanye West in Florence, Italy. Rob has weaved in and out of the spotlight in recent years, but choosing not to attend his sister's star-studded wedding certainly raised eyebrows. Why did he bail?
Two years later, in 2016, Rob opened up a bit about his "personal decision." He told People he was struggling with his body image at the time. "I was doing my suit fittings in Paris right before the wedding and I just wasn't comfortable," he said.
Rob has since lost weight and seems to feel happier and healthier, yet he's remained elusive, particularly on social media. Skipping Kimye's nuptials was just the beginning of a series of struggles involving Rob Kardashian and the spotlight. Let's take a closer look at what transpired between Kim and Rob prior to her 2014 wedding and find out where things stand today.
Rob Kardashian RSVP'd to Kim & Kanye's wedding via email
Kim Kardashian talked about the moment she found out her brother, Rob Kardashian, was hightailing it out of Europe and essentially RSVPing never mind to her wedding.
"He sent me a long email the morning of, that he was going to leave. There was no fight," she revealed on Watch What Happens Live! (via Entertainment Tonight). "I totally understand that he wouldn't want to see a lot of people if he was feeling uncomfortable and you can only pray and wish that someone would not miss out on more memories in life, because life is about memories."
Kim and Kanye West have moved on and started a family. Rob is also a father now to a daughter named Dream with his ex-fiancée, Blac Chyna. Those two never made it down the aisle. In fact, their relationship has been anything but amicable in recent years. The exes made headlines in 2020, when Rob filed for primary custody, claiming in court documents that Dream is allegedly more "aggressive" and prone to "acting out sexual positions" following visits with Chyna, reported TMZ. Chyna fired back, alleging Dream sustained first and second-degree burns while staying with her father, per Page Six.
Though Rob's Instagram account is active, the page includes a message saying it's run by Jenner Communications and claiming Rob "does not post" content. Rob was banned from Instagram in 2017 after posting "revenge porn" of Chyna, so perhaps his low profile is for the best.
