Real Housewives of Orange County alum Meghan King is back on the market! The former reality star has broken up with boyfriend Christian Schauf after almost six months of dating, she confirmed via Instagram on Nov. 30, 2020. The reveal came amid Meghan giving a tour of her new St. Louis home on her Instagram Live, sparking speculation that the two had split. According to Us Weekly, During the clip, she told a fan, "No one is moving in this home except for me, Girly Girl, Aspen, Hart and Hayes. That's it. That is everyone who will be living in this house."
The Bravo personality shares three kids with her estranged ex-husband, MLB star Jim Edmonds. She had met Christian, the Life Uncharted podcast host, and CEO of Uncharted Supply Company, in early 2019, according to Page Six. However, the two didn't become Instagram official until May 2020, when she posted a photo of them together with the caption, "'I'll just say this: I'm happy and looking forward to writing my next chapter."
Fans were hoping the single mom had found what she was looking for in Christian, especially after all the drama with Edmonds. E! reported that during an episode of Intimate Knowledge, the podcast she co-hosts, Meghan said, "I just want a partner who is supporting me and isn't jealous or trying to suppress. Someone who grows with me instead of staying stagnant at a certain place." So what happened between her and Christian that led them to call it quits? We reveal the answer below.
Meghan King and Christian Schauf grew apart
Bravo alum Meghan King says she "grew apart" from Christian Schauf, and he said it was because they "lived very different lives," eventually leading to their breakup. The mother of three confirmed their split on her Instagram, sharing, "As I close the door on my relationship with Christian I am quite literally opening the door to our new family home."
The former reality star opened up more about their relationship on her blog, with a post entitled One Door Closes. "We laughed, went on adventures, made a long-distance relationship a thing of beauty, grew together, and then... well, we grew apart," she wrote. Jim Edmonds ex-wife added, "With him my soul reawakened my dormant adventurous spirit and I remembered what it felt like to love myself and be loved." Christian also confirmed their split to Page Six and debunked rumors that it had to do with her celebrity. "I've never had any problem with any form of publicity," he stated. "We lead [sic] very different lives and knew that when we met. Sometimes this happens. I wish nothing but the best for Meghan and the kids and we're on good terms." Meghan echoed that they are doing OK by wishing him "an abundance of love and happiness in his life."
As for the former Real Housewives of Orange County star, although her relationship may have ended, Meghan wrote she's "just getting started." With that positive attitude, hopefully, she will find what she's looking for in St. Louis!
